Miller of Orem, will marry Keven John Stratton, Strat-ton, son of Herbert B. Stratton and Meredith C. Stratton, also of Orem, on February, June 1, 1984 in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A reception will honor the couple that same evening from 7:30 to 9:30 at the Schonwald Terrace; 1835 South State, Orem. The event is open to all friends and relatives. The bride elect graduated from Mountain View High School and LDS Seminary. She was active in the Acappella Choirs and sports. Students honored were chosen by their high school business teachers as the most outstanding business student of their high school. In addition to her business classes, Laura was named Bruin Teenager of the Month for the area of business and received the Vocational Excennence Award. She is the historian of FBLA, vice-president of FHA, a member of the National Honor Society and the tennis team. Laura is currently employed at Miller Ski Company.. She has received an academic scholarship to Stevens Henager College, where she plans to cotinue her preparation for work as a secretary. HOLLY FLYGARE Holly Flygare Selected For Beauty Pageant Miss Holly Flygare, age 14, daughter of L. Bruce and Kathleen Sims Flygard, of Orem, has been selected to be an entrant in the 1984 Utah American Beauty Pageant to be held June 9, 1984, at the Tra Arc Hotel, Salt Lake City. The Utah American Beauty Pageant is the official of-ficial state preliminary for the National American Beauty pageant to be held September 1-4, in Hollywood, California. Winners of the pageant will receive a cash award, portrait, crown, banner trophy, and a chance to compete in the National Pageant. Prizes in the National Pageant are valued at over $10,000. Contestants will be judged on poise, personality, and appearance. All contestants will compete in judges interviews, sportswear, and formal wear. Miss Flygare recently participated par-ticipated in the 1984 Spring Classic Queen Pageant where she was chosen as Second Attendant. In the same pageant she also was awarded trophies for First Place in the Talent Competion, Miss Congenilaily and Best Interview. Miss Flygare served this past year as the elected 8th grade Vice-President at the Orem Jr. High. Baton Corps Classes Set Pleasant Grove Recreation Dept. will be organizing a baton corps for the summer parades and shows. Classes will start Wednesday, Wed-nesday, June 6, at 3:30 p.m. for ages 5 and up. The eight week session will cover basic twirls, tosses, rolls as well as dance twirl marching and maneuvering. A pomqom and drill team class will also be offered. The director is Florence Adams, a USTA (United States Twirling Assoc.) instructor.
