Speaking to the group were the six vice-presidents of the Chamber. Past President Roger Dodge was the first speaker who is in charge of Governmental Affairs. According to Hoger the group is very active in such projects as the Speakers Bureau; Education Committee, who is over the Free Enterprise Week; Civic Affairs Committee, which is trying to coordinate service clubs and their activities; meetings with legislatures to get people a better understanding of what they are campaigning for; and getting involved in-volved with the Free Trade Act for steel imports. Duane Herbert spoke to the group about becoming aware of what is happening in the community. com-munity. Herbert indicated the Orem Chamber will soon have a new sign and an open house for their new office. Duane stated more money is needed to help the chamber operate and to expand its service to the community. The production will be held in the Orem H.S. Auditorium, Monday, May 21 at 7 p.m. The production, which will feature dancers from age 4 to 19, will be free to the public. Helping the image the chamber has been the new design of the Newsletter, the new office expansion ex-pansion and the getting of additional professional members in the chamber and actively involved. Adjacent is a list of Orem Chamber Membership Committees and the people involved. m their new sleepytime story program for pre-schoolers each Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. Youngsters will have a delightful half-hour of relaxing relax-ing stories before going to bed. Stories will continue to delight the youngest children on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Windsor Students Earn Awards Six outstanding sixth grade students from Windsor Elementary earned the "Hope Of America" Awards from the Orem Kiwanis Club. Two students were chosen from each sixth grade class. The students were selected by fine leadership ability, outstanding citizenship, and high scholarship. The students selected were: Lori Crow, Erick Stevens, Courtney Welder, Michael Lamoreaux, Robyn LeBaron and Brian Walton. Bruin Netters Take 3rd At State Tourney While Mountain View High School tennis team didn't take first place in the team championship at the State 3A Tennis Tourney at Taylorsville last Saturday, the Bruins still garnered their share of the honors. Paul Hadley and Tad Richards captured second in the doubles competition com-petition and the Bruin net team garnered third place in the final team standing. The second doubles team of the Bruins, Jim Jenkins and Jim Payne made it to the semi-finals and Brian Babcock came through with one singles match win.
