"The Krystal Promise," by the popular authors Blaine and Brenton Yorgason, is not only the story of a death but also the story of a life - the life of Laura, Krystal's mother. How does a grief-stricken grief-stricken mother reconcile herself to such a tragic loss? As she calls upon her reserves of faith, what are some of the emotional and spiritual challenges to be faced? The promise of the ultimate joyous reunion is sure, but how can it compensate for the loss of the living presence, a loss immediate and intense? And was the death a part of the Lord's plan, or was it something that happened by chance or by carelessness? To such questions Laura seeks answers as she reviews the events of that terrifying morning. To each question answers, are ultimately given, though not in the way expected, and Laura is gradually filled with the comforting Spirit of the Lord. Though this story reads like fiction, it is actually a true-to-life account of one family's experience. It is a moving story of faith and of hope, but more than all else it is a story of love.
