Income Tax Charge Gordon S. Reid, Spanish Fork, Utah, was charged today in Federal Court with two counts of willfully failing to file income tax returns for the years 1977 and 1978. The information filed, alleges that Reid, -a pipefitter - welder, received more than $26,000 in income in 1977 and more than $24,000 in 1978 and failed to file Federal income tax returns for those years. If convicted, Reid, could face a maximum penalty on each count of one year in prison and a $10,000 fine. 5 . VVestmore Read-A-Thon Raises $850 For Books This week prizes were awarded in Westmore Elementary School's Second Annual Library Read-a-thon. Prizes were awarded in two categories; prizes for the most books read and prizes for the most money raised. Susan Faragher, in Mrs. Taylor's third grade class was the winner for reading the most books. Patricia Rodriquez also in Mrs. Taylor's class, and Jennifer Patten in Mrs. BJackham's third grade class, were' tied as money winners. Other winners included: Jennifer Schilappi, Kari Marsing, Dyane Wheeler, Jennifer Petersen, Ellen Johnson, John Faragher, Matt Cunningham, Holly Cunningham, Joey Tritchler, Nathan Burt, and Melanie Madsen. A total of seventy-eight students participated. . ' The PTA sponsored contest raised $850.00 for new books and library materials. ThiS'is $150.00, more than last year's contest. The 20-year-old Westmore library was badly in need of these funds to upgrade it's books. The Westmore students and PTA would like to thank the following local merchants who donated prizes to this year's Read-a-thon: Timp Bookstore, Wolfs . Jordan High took first place. After the first two x events the Tigers were ahead of Jordan by 1.5 points which added more excitement than usual to the finish. Nostalgic Members Plan 20th Reunion Jlie 20th Anniversary Reunion of the Orem lst-24th Ward building will be held May 8 at 7:30 p.m. at 225 E. 200 N., Orem. Fay Johnson, former 1st Ward bishop, and Keith Chase, a welcome visitor to the ward anytime, are among several entertainers reviving portions of the "Gay 90's," a fund-raising troupe who traveled throughout Utah County (and sometimes beyond) seeking fame and fortune as they gathered funds to raise the chapel walls. Nishiguchi, president of the Utah Farm Bureau, was named to a delegation of Farm Bureau leaders who visited Japan in mid-April mid-April to encourage increased in-creased sales of U.S. farm products there. The group is being sponsored ten in the state. This year and last the athletes took, first place in Region and second place in State. The Tigers are looking for a very strong team again next year since the team is losing only one senior.
