An overwhelming majority of those attending the public meeting, meet-ing, numbering 225, supported construction of the 3000 megawatt mega-watt coal-fired plant in Southern South-ern Utah. Many urged BLM to push ahead with the environmental environ-mental statement so Uthans can begin enjoying the economic returns of the project." The project would supply 28 percent of the anticipated power demand increase expected in southwestern United States by 1982, an area in serious need of power, according to project participants serving the region Southern California Edison, San Diego Gas and Electric, Arizona Public Service and the Salt River Project. Site for the plant has been narrowed down to two potential poten-tial locations Nipple Bench Site, 10 miles north of the Utah-Arizona border and about 15 miles north of Glen Canyon Dam, and Four Mile Bench, about 15 miles north of Nipple Bench. Sharp, first counselor in the Relief Society Presidency of the LDS Church. Mrs. Sharp, a daughter of the late President J. Reuben Clark Jr., has given them to BYU to be used by scholars inhistorical research. Also included in the donation was a box of original prints made in the Savage studios, made in the Savage studios.
