OREM JPM u'- SNOW AT EASTER Tl VIE A lady who has a lot of pride in the appearance of her yard invited yours truly down to her home to see the snow that fell recently. It looked like snow but actually it was the seeds or pods blown off several elm trees from across the street. The ground was pr.u-tiuMy white. Weknowwhat the lady is fighting, when it coni"s to keeping her grounds free of these unsightly elms l.iiat seem to grow overnight. I have a mess of them, as so do some of my neighbors. I honestly would welcome some sort of regulation that would have people remove these menaces men-aces to beautification from Ihe city. If yon observe Orem very closely you will see many of these trees that are not only filthy but a nuisance to the irrigation ditches We cannot help but feel if the beautification committee or shade tree commission would encourage people to have these trees removed, in a few years we would have our city looking a lot better with a little expense ex-pense and work to the citizens. 8TH EAST TORN UP Eighth East, running North to 8th South in Orem from the 13th South access road, ,in dergoing a face lifting.
