Paxman, son of Mr. and Mrs. LaMar C. Paxman of Provo. The ceremony will be held Friday, May 19 in the Provo IDS Temple followed by a reception in their honor that evening at the Pleasant View First and Third Ward Cultural Hall. Miss Burmesiter is a graduate of Orem High where she was a member of the Tigerettes, concert con-cert choir, and a graduate from the Orem IDS Seminary. She is presently employed as a secretary secre-tary at the Orem State Bank and is a member of the NationalSec-retaries NationalSec-retaries Association. She is also Relief Society president of the Sharon Stake Gelaners. The bridegroom elect is a Spanish Fork High graduate and has graduated from BYU with a major in accounting. In high school he was a member of the A'Cappella Choir and a graduate of the Spanish Fork Seminary. He is currently employed at the . Colorado National Bank. He has fulfilled a mission to the Southwest South-west British LDS Mission. Mrs. DonPeterson, Linda Pax man, Edith Hill and Nadlne Haslem will attend the bride at their reception. Following their marriage, the couple will make thier home in Denver, Colorado. Lincoln Beacon ..Jann Miller The 9th grade speech assembly was held Wednesday for all grades. We would like to thank the 9th graders who participated, for their outstanding performance. perform-ance. It was a great success. Also, we would like to give special spe-cial recognition to Miss Woodward Wood-ward for her part in directing this great assembly. The 9th grade awards assembly will be held Friday. The different categories in which the awards will be presented are: General, speech and drama, industrial arts, home making, choral, physical physi-cal education, orchestra, art, type, math, science, language arts and band awards. The citizens of the week are: Lori Flygare, 9th grade, Vickie Johnson, 8th grade, and David Maughn, 7th grade. Mr. and Mrs. John L. Mecham of Orem announce the engagement of their daughter, Karen E. Mecham to Dennis M. Willden, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis L. Willden, of Henderson, Nevada. The couple will be married May 11 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. A reception will be held in their honor that evening from 8-10 p.m. at the Orem Reception Centre. Karen is a graduate of Orem High School and Orem HighSem-inary. HighSem-inary. She attended the Provo Trade Technical College on a scholarship and graduated as a certified dental assistant. She is presently employed with Dr. James D. Ashman of Provo. Dennis is a graduate of Basic High School in Henderson, Nevada Ne-vada and a Seminary Graduate. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Club, and the Sun Youth Forum. The bride chose pink roses as her flowers. She will be attended by her sister, LaDean Mecham, as maid of honor, and VickyDay, Janice Prestwich, and Dian Schmidt as bridesmaids. John Mecham will stand as Best Man. Following the reception, the couple will honeymoon in Phoenix, Phoe-nix, Arizona, where they will make their home while Dennis attends Arizona State University in continuing his studies as a pre-med student. Cordial Club Holds Meeting The Cordial Club held their April meeting at the home of Ann Br eznick, prior to attending a demonstration at the Oak Hills Ward in Provo. Sandra M. Covey presented a beautiful program and display on the art of entertaining. Approximately Approxi-mately thirty tables were decorated with various themes. Most of the items used had been collected or given to her. She has a large collection of items which can be drawn from at a moment's notice for creating table decorations and centerpieces. center-pieces. The group was impressed with Mrs, Covey's vitality as a mother of seven. She loves to entertain, and is a former mission mother in Ireland. She was on crutches during the demonstration from a skiing accident where she had been injured.
