Show 27 , 7 W ! 7 fi J """j I Mr. and Mrs. William W. Nicol Local Couple Announce July 16th Marriage Ceremonies performed July 16 in the Orem 11th Ward Chapel, united Janice L. Hatch and William Wil-liam W. Nicolin marriage. Parents Par-ents of the newlyweds are Mr. and Mrs. Lyle D. Hatch of Spring-ville, Spring-ville, and Mr. and Mrs. John M. Nicol, 435 E. 900 S., Orem. Bishop Wayne R. Her lin officiated at the ceremonies. That evening the couple was honored at a reception in the Orem 11th Ward Cultural Hall, which was decorated with baskets of white gladiolas, and blue tinted mums. The bride greeted friends in her wedding gown which was designed de-signed by herself and her mother, and made by her mother. Made of raised satin brocade, it featured fea-tured a separate chapel train trimmed with white velvet ribbon. She carried a bridal bouquet of white carnations encircling ablue orchid. Her shoulder length veil of illusion was caught in a crown effect of pearls. Bridesmaids, Kathleen Campbell, Camp-bell, Diana Nicol, and Barbara Nelson wore floor length dresses of pale blue satin. They carried long stemmed white carnations tied with a blue ribbon. . John M. Nicol Jr., brother of the groom, served as best man with Robert Nicol, Jim Nicol, Gene Hatch, Mark Hatch and Ronald Campbell as ushers. Ring bearer was Gary Hatch, and BrendaandSherrie Nicol took care of the gifts. Ronald and Ria Hatch and Jay and Diane Thurman greeted at the door. Special guests were Mrs. Mary Hatch, Springville, Mrs. May Norton, La Mirada, Calif., grandmothers grand-mothers of the bride, and Mrs. Grace G. Nuttall of Orem, grandmother grand-mother of the groom. Earlier that day, the groom's parents hosted a wedding supper at the Ron Wilkinson Family Restaurant. On July 25, the new Mr. and Mrs. Nicol were honored at an open house in Riverside, Calif., the bride's parents former home. Mc-' Mc-' Intyre, of Orem and Colin T. Strasburg, of American Fork. The bride-to-be is a daughter of Mrs. Ellen S. Mclntyre and the late Glen B. Mclntyre. Mr. Strasburg is a grandson of Mrs. Esma A. Strasburg of American Fork. The couple plan to be married' in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. ' Mis Mclntyre is a graduate of Orem High School where she ; was active in the GAA, the Honor Society and the Future Home-makers Home-makers of America. She is a 4th year graduate of the LDS Seminary and is presently attending at-tending Brigham Young Univer- Mr. Strasburg graduated from American Fork High School, and is also a 4th year Seminary. - graduate. While in high school he was a member of the band. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Orem High School, and the Utah Technical College, where she graduated as a secretary. Rubidoux High School, Riverside, Calif., and Victor Comptometer School in Salt Lake City. She has also attended Brigham Young,' University. Mr. Nicol graduated from Orem High School and has attended at-tended UTC and BYU. He spent 3 years in the Army Special Forces as aninteUigence analyst, including one year in Panama and Vietnam. He received the Army commendation medal and bronze star while he served. He is presently employed as a draftsman at the United States Bureau of Reclamation. The couple is now at home in Orem, following their honeymoon to Las Vegas. Marilyn Turner Awarded Masters Degree At U SU Marilyn Willis Turner, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Orval A, Willis, Orem, has completed requirements re-quirements for the degree of Master of Science in speech pathology at Utah State University. Univer-sity. Mrs. Turner conducted research re-search on the operant procedures in language training with autistic autis-tic children. While at USU Mrs. Turner graduated Cum Laude with aB.S. degree and became a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Alpha Lambda Delta.
