Farnsworth V ' Miiiniif Kent Farnsworth Awarded Silver Pilot Wings Lubbock, Tex, Second Lieutenant Lieu-tenant Kent A. Farnsworth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean B. Farnsworth Farns-worth of 295 N. 400 W., Orem, Utah, has been awarded U. S. Air Force Silver pilot wings upon up-on graduation at Reese AFB, Tex. Lt Farnsworth is being as signed to Mather AFB, Calif., for flying duty in the T-29 Flying Fly-ing Classroom navigation trainer aircraft with the Air Training Command which provides flying, technical and basic military training for U. S. Air Force personnel. The lieutenant, a 1963 graduate of Orem High School, received a B. A. Degree from Brigham Young University and was commissioned there through the Reserve Officers Offi-cers Training Corps program. Local Man Hurt In Mishap An employee of the Orem City Cemetery suffered facial cuts, bruises, and abrasions in a mishap mis-hap involving a tractor recently. According to police, David Campbell, 23, 890 W. 120 S. Frovo, had gotten out of the tractor when apparently the vehicle ve-hicle was out of gear. It started start-ed to roll, and Campbell was injured in-jured as he attempted to get back on the tractor. He was taken to the Utah Valley Val-ley Hospital by the Orem Police. APPLES PEACHES PEARS Production prospects are good for all three of these fruits, nearly equal to the good 1969 crops. Fruit is sizing well and no damage factors of consequence such as insects, hail, wind, excessive ex-cessive heat, have been reported. An increase in number of apple trees of bearing age is likely this year. SPRING GRAINS Harvesting of spring wheat, oats, and barley for grain will start in 2 to 3 weeks in most areas. Most of the spring grains are grown on irrigated land. Percent of acreage ripe to July 27 is estimated at 15 for spring wheat and oats, and 25 for barley. Yield prospects are rated rat-ed good to excellent in most areas. 7 YEAR-OLD GIRL HURT IN MISHAP A seven year-old Orem girl suffered a bump on the head, when the bicycle she was riding collided with a car driven by Lana Lee Finch, 315 W.1200N. Jacqulyn Call, 7, 432 E. 1200 N. was riding her bicycle on 1200 North when the right handle bar sideswiped the fender of the Finch car. Lana Lee Finch was cited for speeding too fast for conditions.
