Show Utah State Fair Entry Deadline Fair Director, Hugh C. Brigh-hurst, Brigh-hurst, announced today the entry deadlines for the Fine Arts, Photography, Home Arts, Horticulture, Horti-culture, Agriculture and Floriculture Flori-culture Departments of the 1967 Utah State Fair, scheduled August 26 through September 4. Entries in the Fine Arts Department De-partment will be received in the Fine Arts Building at the Fairgrounds, Fair-grounds, Friday, August 18th, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, August 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Weldon Hyer, department depart-ment supervisor, said that both professional and amateur artists may enter exhibits in Fine Arts, Mosiacs, Pottery, Jewelry, Weaving Weav-ing and Graphic Arts categories. A total of $1,842.00 in prize money is being offered. The maximum size limit for all paintings paint-ings and mosiac art is not to exceed 48 inches in its largest dimension, including frame. The smallest framed size limit accepted accep-ted will be eight inches by ten inches. The August 19th deadline and delivery periods also apply to photography exhibits and crafts displays. Don Grayston, phob-raphy phob-raphy supervisor, said $670 in prize money and trophies are being offered to outstanding photographers. Crafts displays will receive ribbons, prize money' and trophies. 1 Home Arts, accompanied by entry forms and fees, will be received in the Home Arts Building Build-ing at the Fairgrounds August 16, 17, 18, 19, and 21 from 8 a.m.' to 4 p.m. Verna AUred, department depart-ment supervisor, reminds contestants contes-tants that competition will be in needlework and home handicrafts, with many categories under each. Winners of County Fair Queen Contests and other authorized county celebrations wanting to vie for the 'Miss Utah State Fair title, have until August 18 to submit sub-mit entries, according to Mrs. LaRue Brewster, contest coordinator. coordi-nator. Colby of Sigurd, July 9, took several Orem residents to the Sevier Se-vier County town. Mrs. Wilford Pierce and Mrs. Colby are sisters. sis-ters. Those attending from Orem were Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Pierce; Mr. and Mrs. Arlo E. Pierce; Mrs. Darrel L. Mr. and Mrs. Colby are the parents of Mrs. La Rue (Lucy) Spencer and Mrs. Thora Peterson, Peter-son, who lost their lives in the two car collision near Nephi June 11 which also took the lives of Mrs. Spencers four children child-ren and two occupants of the other car. It is reported that although in ill health at the time of the Accident, Mrs. Colby has suf- ficently recovered to be able to. welcome their many friends and family during the Golden Wedding Wed-ding celebration. See Mary Sunshine Police Commend Alert Youths Two youths were commended by police Sunday for their actions when they discovered a rifle in a field near 838 N. State. Police said the boys, Terry Robinson, 16, 95 W. 700 N., and Rickey Dye, his friend, found the rifle and immediately notified police without touching the gun. Sumner, staff manager man-ager for the Provo district agency agen-cy of the Prudential Insurance Co., has celebrated his 20th anniversary an-niversary with the firm, according accord-ing to Belmont F. Anderson, manager. Sumner started Ids company career as an agent in Provo in 1947. He received commendation this week from Orville E. Beal, company president. Born and reared in Provo, Sumner is an alumnus of Brigham Young University and is a member mem-ber of the Provo Chamber of Commerce and the Riverside Country Club. Bray, 31, 1838 S. Moore Drive, Salt Lake City, formerly of Provo and Springville, died Saturday in a fall from a horse. He was born Nov. 8, 1935, in Provo, the son of Orval C. and Olive Madsen Bray. , He married Judith Anni Schultz on April 2, 1966, in Salt i Lake City. He was a graduate of Brigham Young University in 1964 and later was a graduate gradu-ate of the University of Utah Law School. He was in the law firm of Tuft and Marshall. He served for three years in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his widow of Salt Lake; parents of Springville; Spring-ville; brothers and one sister, Allen Bray of Springville and Robert T. Bray of Salt Lake; Mrs. Jack (Jerri) McQuivey, Springville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Cottonwood Presbyterian Church, 1580 E. Vine Street.
