Most of the winners were determined during morning lineups line-ups in front of a panel of judges. Any tie scores were eliminated during the evening's individual programs, during which competitors flexed for one minute on stage, accompanied by the soundtrack of their choice. Rudolph is a proponent of physical fitness and stresses the importance of drug-free bodybuilding. PLEASE ATTEND THIS PUBLIC HEARING! The land west ofThaynes Canyon Drive comprising the rough area of the 15th Fairway of the Municipal Golf Course is to be covered with homes. Public input can stop this - a brief historical review of the area will help you make an informed decision. In the beginning, the "Treasure Mountain Community" as proposed by the Greater Park City Corp. intended rough area surrounding the golf course to be kept as open space and provide view corridors to the surrounding canyons so that no developments would block these scenic vistas. Lots in Thaynes Canyon Subdivisions I and II were marketed under this covenant and lots were purchased with this understanding' In 1973 the official Park City Comprehensive Plan and Development Guide designated these areas to be "Recreation Open Space'" In 1976 the Land Management Code placed the golf course in the "Residential Development District". One of the purposes of this district was "to preserve natural open space" and function as "green belts".' On March 16, 1978 the Park City Council was informed that the owners of the golf course (Park City Ski Corp.) were considering developing the golf course for commercial uses.4 On July 6, 1978 Mr. Ray Johnson, representing the Ski Corp. began the hearing by stating that he had no intention of selling the course but would like to see it zoned recreational, with the exception being the 7 to 8 acres comprising the pro shop and driving range. Here he wanted a resort type hotel.' On April 5, 1979, a proposal was made to the Park City Council that the City purchase the golf course to insure that it remain public (and preserve the open space and view corridors as intended by the original developers). The city was to buy the entire course with the exception of the seven acres including the pro shop and driving range.' On or about April 1, 1980, the city finalized the purchase of the golf course. On March 11, 1981 property owners learned of the intention of the Park City Ski Corp. to apply for an application to develop the rough area of the 15th Fairway bordering Thaynes Canyon Drive. Until this time, residents had assumed the driving range was to be developed as per the initial purchase agreement, but no one was aware that adjacent areas were to be developed and open space and view corridors destroyed. However, in light of tremendous community-wide opposition to this development the Park City Ski Corp. withdrew their application for development. For the past 10 years this property has continued to provide view corridors of Thaynes Canyon and create a feeling of open space for the neighborhood. Last year the Ski Corp. sold the land to a developer who now feels his own agenda outweighs the good of the community, and subsequently he has applied to the Planning Department to have this open space zoned to allow a THREE LOT SUBDIVISION. Obviously he is not at all sensitive to the feelings of the community, and has no desire to honor the intentions of previous planners of preserving open space and view corridors. Public support can assure enforcement of proper land management and preservation of open space. WE CAN STOP THIS DEVELOPMENT Attend the Public Hearing on this application Wed.
