The region tournament consisted of 14 Young Women teams from stakes in Springville and Mapleton. 3 Open burning rules listed; Burn permits to be issued Burn permits will be issued is-sued in Springville starting start-ing at 8 a.m. the morning of April 1 and ending at 5 p.m. on April 30. : These can be obtained by calling the Springville City Public Safety Dispatch at 489-9421. Permits are only good for the day they are issued. A safety check will be performed per-formed by the fire department depart-ment prior to issuing the permit. Springville Chief Phil Whitney said, "The burning burn-ing of trash, garbage, building construction materials ma-terials and other waste is prohibited." "Yard clean up is for the burning of trimmings and prunings from bushes, plants and trees only," he said. OPEN BURNING RULES 1. The burning of trash, garbage, building construction con-struction materials, other waste, or for salvage operations oper-ations is prohibited by the Utah State Air Pollution Control Act. 2. These do not include trash, garbage or other debris de-bris that may be deposited in or along ditch banks. 5. Burn permits in the city limits a duty fireman must be notified, and permits per-mits may be issued by the dispatcher, when the station sta-tion is not manned. Outside the city limits, you must have a county burn permit number. 6. Restrictions say the person requesting the burn permit must: Assume all responsibility to burn safely, safe-ly, must have suitale fire fighting tools andor water nearby, have a responsible person attending the fire at all times, have all fires completely out by dark, not burn within 50 feet of any building, and place materials to be burned in small piles. There are many reasons rea-sons why, but in most cases the bottom line is the same - big game animals in Utah are doing well. . "This is a great time to hunt big game in Utah," says Anis Aoude, big game coordinator for the Division of Wildlife Resources. Re-sources.
