Rushmore. So along with debating debat-ing which Division I football foot-ball team should really be playing .for the national championship, we're into full presidential political pandemonium. I'm often asked political questions. Here are a few - along with my answers. Question: Are you going to vote for the preacher? Answer: Maybe. Maybe not. Depends upon whether wheth-er the preacher demonstrates demon-strates political savvy and vision. Just because a person's a preacher doesn't automatically auto-matically mean the individual indi-vidual will make a good President - or not. It's just one more in jHRtED VfSKE? For the most part, in most areas, people will not pay more in monthly costs to own a home or condominium than they would to rent a similar property unless they were speculating in hopes of making a big profit. By referencing homes' long-term relationship with rents, you can get some idea of your home's value. Assessing the value of your property is one of the teresting thing on the resume. re-sume. You wouldn't vote for a Mormon or a Catholic or a Methodist or a person who doesn't often go to church would you? Maybe. Maybe not. A candidate's church affiliation doesn't say much about communication commu-nication skills or maturity or readiness to lead. In the hospital after the 1980 assassination attempt, at-tempt, President Reagan joked with his doctor, "I hope you're a Republican." That's funny, but what really re-ally mattered is whether the white frock was a skilled physician. Church affiliation is not meaningless, meaning-less, but it shouldn't be a litmus test. Would you vote for a candidate who didn't believe be-lieve "every word" of the Bible? I don't think this question is a fair or necessary one to ask presidential political candidates on a national stage. They aren't running run-ning for Pastor. or do I think candidates should be asked theological theologi-cal questions.
