I will define it by where you stand. You can be in the parade which means you put one step in front of the other and follow an assigned route through your town. Or you can be sitting or standing on the sidelines watching the parade pass you by. You get to choose where you are in our little parade. To celebrate the month of March we are focusing focus-ing on getting dressed to shoes and fixing your hair and face each morning in a marching band theme. Marching bands love to perform in a parade. I was in marching band in high school. We practiced prac-ticed many hours in the sun to learn our routines. Oh wow I actually said it. We had routines. We had warm-ups and we took breaks too. . I will never forget my first summer in band. We went to band camp! Now let me tell you that I barely bare-ly knew how to play my French horn but when you put playing and marching at the same time. I had two left feet.My band director taught me one important lesson that has stayed with me all these years. It was to learn the steps first then you will not have to' think about two things at once. Your body will automatically au-tomatically do the steps and then your mind can focus on the music. Guess what it worked then and it works now. This is why we practice prac-tice one habit at a time, because as we establish 1790 S. We are not being mean to ourselves by piling pil-ing on. This is what we have always done; make a big list of what we should do and expect ourselves to follow that list to the letter. As you establish one habit at a time; you do not have to think. To begin our parade we have to get up and get dressed in our uniform. In order to do this, our uniform has to be clean and laid out for us to jump into! Our shoes are part of that uniform. They give us support for the many steps we have to take during dur-ing our daily parade route. We have to keep our instrument in-strument tuned up by eating good food, drinking drink-ing our water and taking breaks. March can mean a lot of things, depending on where you live. Around here, March brings a mixture of days that alternate between the end of winter and the beginning be-ginning of spring. It also brings longer days to the Ozarks, Spring Break for the school kids and the occasional wedding wed-ding or baby shower to celebrate cel-ebrate an upcoming happy occasion. Whether it's being invited in-vited to an event or having hav-ing a nice, quiet evening at someone's house, I never like to show up empty handed. One of my favorite favor-ite recipes is for Spinach Artichoke Dip. This is something that a lot of people only have when they go out to eat, but it's just as easy to have your own at home - and a whole lot more economical. economi-cal. This goes over great at showers, parties or when you're entertaining. Try it out on your family and they will be asking you to make it all the time.
