This meet was sponsored by the Utah Valley Dolphins Swim Team. In the six and underage group for the girls, Tara Huff placed second in both the 25 yard freestyle and the 25 yard backstroke; Anna Hatfield Hat-field placed fourth in the 25 yard freestyle. In the six and under boys age group, John Penrod placed first in the 25 yard freestyle and in the 25 yard butterfly. He also had a second in the 25 yard backstroke. Richard Rowley placed first in the 25 yard backstroke and third in the 25 yard freestyle. In the eight and under girls, Amyee Hatfield got a B Time in the 50 yard backstroke. She also had three first places, one in the 50 yard freestyle, the 50 yard breaststroke, and the 100 yard individual medley. She placed second in the 50 yard butterfly. : Lara Huff placed first in50yard butterfly, the 50 yard backstroke, and second in the 50 yard freestyle. Sarah Hatfield placed fifth in the 50 yard breaststroke. Other girls competing but not placing in the top six were DeeDee Haines and Elizabeth Billings. In the eight and under boys, Paul Conover took first in the 100 yard individual in-dividual medley, and four second ribbons in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle, the 50 yard breaststroke, and the 50 yard backstroke. Joel Christiansen took second place in the 50 yard butterfly and third in the 50 yard freestyle; a fourth in the 100 yard freestyle, and a sixth in the 50 yard breaststroke. Ryan Johnston took first in the 50 yard freestyle and a 3rd in the 100 yard freestyle. Scoot Billings placed fourth in the 50 yard backstroke. Jeff Butler also swam in this age group. In the nine and 10 age group for the girls, Molly Cox took second in the 50 yard backstroke and 3rd In the 50 and 100 yard freestyle. She also placed third in the 100 yard individual in-dividual medley. Jenny Hatfield took sixth in the 50 yard breaststroke. Sarah Mullaly also competed in this age bracket. For the nine and 10 age boys, Marc Penrod placed first in the 50 yard breaststroke, second in the 50 yard backstroke and third in the 50 freestyle, the 50 yard butterfly and in the 100 yard individual medley. Marcie Davies placed fifth in the 50 yard butterfly. but-terfly. Kendalee Harmer made her B Time in the 100 yard freestyle and in the 100 yard individual the 100 yard backstroke., Kendalee also swam' in the open catagory and placed first in the 100 yard breaststroke, and third in the 200 yard open individual medley. Also swimming for the 11-12 girls were Sherelyn Billings and Jennifer Johnston. For the 11-12 boys Brian Hutchings took third in the 50 yard butterfly. Jeremy Skabelund, Richard Hatfield, and Jared Butler also participated par-ticipated in the 11-12 boys. For the 13-14 age group for the girls, Karen Briggs took first in the 100 yard backstroke and 200 yard freestyle, and second in the 100 yard breaststroke. Annette Billings took first in the 100 yard butterfly, second in the 100 yard freestyle and third in the 200 yard individual medley. She also took fifth in the 200 yard freestyle. Bonnie Conover took first in the 100 yard freestyle, third in the 100 yard breast-stroke breast-stroke and the 100 yard butterfly. She also had two fourth places in the 100 yard backstroke and in the 200 yard individual medley. Jerri Ann Hughes placed first in the 100 yard breaststroke, second in the 200 yard freestyle and fifth in the 100 yard freestyle. In the 15-18 girls, Phyllis Bradford placed fourth in the 100 yard open freestyle, and fifth in the 200 yard open freestyle. Karen Dart took fifth in the 100 yard breaststroke. The open events are for all swimmers through age 18 and ribbons are awarded first through sixth place. In the relays our eight and under girls took first place. On the team were L. Huff, A. Hatfield, D. Haines, and S. Hatfield. The eight and under boys took second in the 100 yard freestyle relay. These boys are: J. Penrod, R. Rowley, R. Johnston, and J. Butler. The n ine and 10 boys 200 yard freestyle relay who took third are M. Penrod, D. Drollinger, D. Rowley, and C. Poulsen. In the 11-12 girls 200 yard freestyle relay who took third place: M. Davies, C. Young, J. Johnston and S. Billings. In the 11-12 boys who took fourth are B. Hutchings, Hut-chings, J. Butler, R. Hatfield, and J. Skabelund. In the girls 200 yard open freestyle relay who took first: A. Billings, K. Briggs, B. Conover, and K. Harmer. Kendalee was awarded the Best Meet Swimmer Award. Her coach Shari Clark picked her, saying she deserves this award because she worked hard in practice and was able to improve her times in every race she swam. Congratulations to the whole team for the outstanding out-standing job they are doing. Horses must be on grounds at 9 a.m., begins at 10:00 a.m. Classes will include the following: Open, Non-Pro, Non-Pro, 1500 NP., 1000 N, 500 N. 150 N. There will be a Youth class if there are at least 3 entries. The public is invited to come watch free of charge. The cattle for this event are being donated by Leonard Harward, of Springville. Clark Allan from Mapleton, will fly in a week early to help put the congress together; he is the Western Region Explorer Chairman, and a member of the National Cabinet. Explorers visit Indiana Six explorers and one adult from the Hobble Creek District are traveling by Amtrak to Indianapolis, Ind. for the National Explorer President's May 12-16. Congress They will be involved in electing their own regional and national officers, getting acquainted with other Explorers from all over the United States, and learning leadership skills that they will use in their posts, districts and councils.
