Show Council meets with Spanish Fork Springville city council held a brief council meeting Tuesday evening in the city hall discussing with the Spanish Fork City Council the proposed freeway annexation. No decisions were made but both cities came to an understanding and will deliberate the proposals and make some changes in their policy declarations. Should the two cities come to agreement then the proposed freeway annexation of the property along the freeway west of the city would become official. In other actions Miss Springville met with the council and thanked them for their support and Charliane Bird was granted a business license to operate a beauty shop at the Sage Inn at 1250 North Main. Ray Klauch met with the council and thanked them for sending him to an industrial park seminar event in Salt Lake City. He indicated that several of the experts from other parts of the country approved of the Springville Industrial Park concept of development. develop-ment. The county has decided to work with the city concerning liability of its fire equipment and injuries when these occur on fires in the county should the need arise. This will be written into the present contract which the county has with Springville City. It was noted that collector road funds and B & C road funds will increase to the city because of the increased gas tax which will become effective soon. Emergency childbirth workshop offered An Emergency Childbirth Workshop will be held in Mapleton at the City Office Building, 55 East Maple Street, on May 15th and 16th. The intensive thirteen hour workshop will be on services as in the past. Starter, generation and alteration services are also still available. Friday May 15th from 5:30 to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 16th, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Dianne Bjarnson, a midwife associated with Rural Maternity Care in Mapleton, Utah, will be teaching the workshop. Dianne is a board member of the Utah Association of Midwifery and is in charge of midwifery certification. The main thrust of the workshop is personal and family preparedness. Workshop topics will be anatomy, vital signs, normal labor and delivery, labor procedures, complications, com-plications, infant resuscitation, hemorrhage, hemor-rhage, and newborn baby check.
