In a dramatic departure from her role of Kelly Garrett in the ABC series 'Charlie's Angels,' Jaclyn Smith (left, pictured with Buttons and Miss Fontaine) plays Elena, a one-time call girl who marries her longtime idol, a fading, demoralized screen star (Curtis). In the process of helping her husband make a dazzling comeback, Elena becomes a part of Hollywood's power-seeking circles and eventually finds herself at the top of the Beverly Hills-Bel Air social ladder. The screenplay by Robert J. Shaw, based on the best-selling novel by Joyce Haber. was produced by Dominick Dunne and directed by Joseph E. Hardy. The musical score was composed and conducted by Maurice Jarre.
