She hails from Arizona in her younger years and graduated from high school and college in Oregon, having received her degree from Oregon State College in the school of agriculture there. She is the mother of five children, Donna and Linda attending at-tending BYU, Michael and Mark attending junior high and Frank at the Grant School. She has been teaching since 1967, getting a degree in elementary education at the University of California at Riverside and Brigham Young University.
