Sharon Auditorium Will Cost $70,000 BY VICTOR C ANDERSON -General Jlanager SCEKA Plans for an Imposing community communi-ty auditorium for Orem recreational recrea-tional activities. Including the picture pic-ture show programs sponsored by the SCERA (Sharon Cooperative Educational and Recreational association! as-sociation! have been launched un der the direction of the officers of the association. Under the plan families In the Orem section will not be asked to donate any funds to build the $70,00 building, the entire amount to be lent by the people, everyone who makes a loan of over $50 in cash or labor to receive Scera auditorium bonds bearing two per cen interest. In exchange for all loans under $50, coupons will be given which may be used to ' pay assessments at any of the activities ac-tivities of Scera. The bonds, too may be converted into coupons as needed by the family. . Long Needed An auditorium has long been needed by the people of Orem. At the present time, the Lincoln high school auditorium is used for all Sharon take conferences for the Scera picture show-, programs pro-grams and other activtles.- The school heeds the auditorium for its own activities which makes It Im perative to - build an auditorium . The proposed auditorium will be large enough to seat . all the - pa trons who attend the picture shows and also house the stake conferences, confer-ences, plays, 'concerts, -and other. church and community gatherings. It should be. remembered that under the financial plan adopted, there is no outside assistance pro posed, from the church, the WPA, town or churcn organizations. The project will be privately financed through the Scera organizations Outside financing firms have proffered prof-fered capital,: but these in charge have decided to retain . 100 - per cent local .'control, by having it locally financed. , The project has been endorsed by all church and local authorities and has the hearty endorsement of the people of Orem, many of whom have already subscribed for the Scera bonds. - The Scera already owns recreational recrea-tional faculties valued at $8000 consisting of a swimming pool, dance pavilion, grand stand, and real estate at Rosalawn recreation center, on the high school ground. This property and the revenues of the Scera activities will be ample security for the repayment of the borrowed funds in 10 years or less. Relics Sought by Historical Group Any person having bid documents docu-ments and valuable relics of pioneer pio-neer life in Orem or Utah county or even the state are invited to bring them to the special room which has been set' aside as a "display room" in the Orem town hall, announces Mayor B.M.
