Show A4 Wednesday, March 14, 2007 Vernal Express binaries Robert Vern Broome Robert Vern Broome, 81, of Rangely, died March 7, 2007 at the Rangely District Hospital He was born August 28, 1925 in Myton, Utah to Marvin and Doris Hollenbeck Broome. Bob married Cleo Turner in January 1950 and later their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple. Bob and Cleo made their home in Willow Creek. They lived in Vernal and then moved to Rangely where Bob worked for Chevron Oil Company. After retirement, Bob fulfilled his first love of cowboying for various ranches. Bob was a veteran of World Warn. Bob was known as a top notch horse breaker. He loved to camp and fish with his family fam-ily and friends. He loved chasing chas-ing wild horses. He would give a wild horse to anyone who wanted a horse. He loved to read Louis L' Amour books. And Bob loved rodeo. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he held various positions. The highlight of Bob's life was his grandkids. He loved to see and hear about their accomplishments. Bob was the true Great American Cowboy. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Tunnie Broome and Loma Simper Loma Simper, age 76, of Vernal Ver-nal died March 10, 2007. She was born August 21, 1930 in Vernal, Utah. She was the oldest daughter daugh-ter of Elmo and Mary Hardy. She married Lyle Simper May 27, 1948; their marriage was solemnized sol-emnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Loma worked many years as a nurses aide at the Uintah County Hospital and brought much comfort and help to many. Loma is survived by her best friend and daughter, Shirlene Hackford; son-in-law Kerm Hackford; grandson Cory Hack-ford Hack-ford and granddaughter Tanya Powell and Baxter Powell; as well as 5 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister Violet Hancock; brother Clayton (Dar-lene) (Dar-lene) Hardy of St. George. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. President Ronald Reagan signed into law in 1984, the Na- ft Lynn Siddoway Lynn I Siddoway, 72, passed away March 11, 2007 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 11, 1934 to Ralph and Marsale Siddoway. Lynn married his sweetheart of 48 years, Kathleen Showalter on Feb. 17, 1959 in Las Vegas, Nev. Lynn graduated form Utah State University in 1960 with a degree in accounting. He worked in the accounting field for 18 years after which he retired from the office to Diamond Mountain, where he took over his first love of the family sheep operation. Lynn loved all that Diamond Mountain and his sheep operation opera-tion had to offer. Lynn took great pride in the care of his livestock, the many sheep-herders, sheep-herders, and the range land he so loved. Most important to him were the relationships formed with his employees, neighbors, and many friends he made along the way. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Marsale Siddoway. He is survived by his wife Kathleen Showalter Siddoway; children, Brett (Cindy) Siddoway, Paige Merlene Jo Webb Merlene Jo Webb lost her third courageous battle with cancer on March 3, 2007 surrounded sur-rounded by her family. Merlene was born July 15, 1938 to Merlin and Cecil DeCamp in Liberal, Kan. She married her high school sweetheart, sweet-heart, Jerry, on Nov. 25, 1956 in Liberal. They moved with their children to Rangely in 1977. Merlene enjoyed working work-ing with the public, and she and Jerry owned Magalino's Restaurant from 1993 to 1998. They had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary . in November, 2006. Merlene is survived by her loving husband, Jerry, their four children, Vicki Webb (partner Dale) of Rangely, Chris Webb (partner Chrissy) of Rangely, Wendy Stockman (husband Don) of Casper, Wyo., and Larene Choate (husband Steve) of Spanish Fork, Utah. Laura was born Oct. 27 1918 to John and Laura Beatrice Neal Harrison, m Bennett, Utah. She was the 6th child of eleven children. Laura married Vert Thompson in Vernal, Utah on June 16th, 1938. Laura was a quiet spoken wonderful mother, grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma. She was very tenderhearted tender-hearted and was a friend to all that knew her. The neighborhood neighbor-hood kids were always welcome wel-come and thought of her house as their home too. Laura loved to play cards with any of the family who were willing to play. She loved being outside, enjoyed going to the mountain for rides and to see wildlife. When she could go fishing, hunting, and camping with the family, those were her favorite times. Mom was an excellent cook, making the best homemade bread, old fashioned milk pudding, pud-ding, homemade chicken noodles, noo-dles, and the dressing for the turkey at Thanksgiving could not be copied. Of course these things were always cooked on her wood cook stove. She made the best popcorn balls at Halloween for grandchildren Don C. Walker Don C. Walker, 79 of Ka-lispell, Ka-lispell, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, after a two year battle with cancer. Don was born the youngest of seven children in 1928 in Randlett, Utah, the son of Jeremiah and Charlotte Geneva Walker. Don's growing up years were spent on horseback working on ranches. He became an expert roper and horse trainer. After graduating from Uintah High school in 1947 in Vernal, Utah, he served in the U.S. Navy. Don married Anna Louise Peterson in 1952 and they had four children. He was employed with Halliburton Company for 20 years. The family moved to Kalispell in 1972 and purchased the Vacationer Motel and Cedar Ce-dar Bay Lodge Resort on Swan Lake. In the 1980s he returned to the oil field as a drilling consultant con-sultant throughout he inter-mountain inter-mountain west. Don will be deeply missed by friends and relatives who knew him for his sense of humor, honesty, and work ethic. Don and Louise were active mem bers of their church and spent many hours in the service of others. His joy in life was help ing his family and teaching his children and grandchildren how to work, be responsible and respect their mothers. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday Feb. 26 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Whitefish Stage Road in Kalispell, with Bishop Cattron presiding.
