Yoga classes beneficial for the By Jennifer Petty Express Writer For Margaret Imhof, yoga is an important part of her life. The Vernal teacher of Kundalini Yoga enjoys bringing bring-ing the experience to others oth-ers and sees it as a way to establish alignment between the body, mind and soul. Imhof started practicing yoga in the spring of 1966 while she was in college in San Diego. She tried many different dif-ferent styles, but enjoyed the whole body focus of Kundalini Yoga. It combines, breathing, movement, stretching, and relaxation. "Kundalini Yoga focuses on balance, strength and flexibility," said Imhof. She says that every class is challenging chal-lenging physically, but can be adapted for individual needs. To deepen her own practice, she attended training in Santa Fe, N.M. and became a certified certi-fied instructor last spring. She knew she would be living in rural areas and that the prob- Donation to Shrine A donation of 73 stuffed toys and $200 was made to the Shrine Hospital on December 4, from the X-High Riders of Vernal. She didn't realize at the time that wanted to teach, but scon learned that she wanted to share the enjoyment of yoga with others. "Teaching is really, really rewarding," she said. "I feel very privileged to share it." Imhof, who moved to Vernal in May 2005, began teaching teach-ing yoga through the Uintah Recreation District before recently opening a studio called Spotlight Yoga in her home. She is currently in the process of acquiring her business busi-ness license. She now teaches three classes each week. On Tuesday and Wednesday, she teaches a 1.5 hour evening class and on Thursdays, she teaches a 45 minute lunchtime class that focuses on breath awareness aware-ness and practicing yoga for stress relief. Gifts provided to children in need around the world Families of St. Paul's Episcopal Church recently presented pre-sented and blessed 48 shoe box gifts for Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan's Purse. Every year, Operation Christmas Child delivers millions mil-lions of gift-filled shoe boxes to children in need all over the world. St. Paul's, in its third year of participation, delivered their boxes to Ashley Valley Calvary Chapel where they joined gifts collected by the members of that church. Together, the shoe box gifts were delivered to a collection station in Salt Lake City and from there, were on their way to children around the world.
