Show BOY SCOUTS Overnight Camporee An overnight Area 10 Camporee Campo-ree will take place this Friday and Saturday with at least three troops from Bingham District planning to take part. On Thursday Thurs-day evening, April 19, an Area 10 Scoutmasters roundtable was held. Over 125 scoutmasters, troop committeemen and district committeemen met at West Jordan Jor-dan Stakehouse and then left in a caravan of approximately fifty cars for the campsite, where they were divided into patrols and actively ac-tively participated in a program which the troops will be judged on this week. Bingham District, under the direction of Richard Rauer was in charge of the "skills" part of the program. Attending At-tending from Bingham were committeemen John Dahlstrom, Mr. Rauer, L. E. Snow, Joe Susaeta, Sus-aeta, Don Byrne and Hosmer Peterson. Scoutmasters in attendance at-tendance were David White, Sam Mullen and Nick Pazell. Scout-O-Rama May 4 and S Al State Fairgrounds On Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5, a Scout-O-Rama will be held in the Industrial Arts Bldg. at the State Fairgrounds. Admission Admis-sion will be $1.00 per family. Tickets will be sold by Boy Scout troops in this district, who will also receive and retain a percentage percent-age of money received. These exhibits are planned and set up by the boys themselves, assisted by their leaders. During the time the exhibits are ooen only boys are allowed in the booths to explain ex-plain and answer questions concerning con-cerning their subject. Troops and districts are in competition with each other and will receive a-wards a-wards according to their presentation presen-tation and appearance of their exhibit. Anyone, especially parents, par-ents, interested in finding out what the scouting program covers cov-ers will find It worthwhile to attend this event. Bingham District Dis-trict is entering tin exhibit on "geology" with all troops in the district taking part. Explorer Post To Be Organised At Copperton Troop 221, Copperton, is organizing or-ganizing an Explorer Post. Boys 14 and over interested in joining this post may do so by contacting contact-ing Scoutmaster Nick Pazell or John Osoro. .o |
