Jozef Jurcisin is a shy, young man whose modesty requires that he minimize his courage. Whose quest for freedom forced him to risk prison in his homeland of Czechoslovakia. A man who shakes his head when he thinks of the American flag recently burned in Chicago as a protest. Because to him, America symbolizes what millions mil-lions of people throughout the world will never personally experience experi-ence freedom. Jurcisin recently visited the Vernal area while on vacation from HFK Manufacturing Corporation in Chicago where he is employed as a tool and die maker. His itinerary for the three-week vacation included visiting the Black Hills, Yellowstone National Park and the Wyoming Badlands, Dinosaur National Monument, Zion's National Park, Arches Monument and the Grand Canyon were among others. His ambitious travel agenda would daunt many of his new countrymen coun-trymen but Jurcisin exults in the freedom symbolized by his first official of-ficial tour of America. Jurcisin was born in Presov, Czechoslovakia to Marie and Jozef Jurcisin on July 8, 1960. At the age of eight, young Jurcisin witnessed 750,000 Soviet soldiers marching into his country. "Sometimes you would sec soldiers for 24 hours," he stated simply.
