Two riders from Colorado and many Uintah Basin contestants competed. Shannon Tracey won the girls' 11-13 year old race and Susan Rasmussen finished second. Casan-dra Casan-dra Harrison placed third. Heath Snyder captured first place in the 5-7 year old novice class and Cody James garnered second place. Ryan Merrill placed third. Marvin Redfoot captured first place in the 8 year old novice class and Joey Upshaw garnered second place. Ryan Redfoot nabbed third place. Darren Johnson was the number one cruiser contestant and Steve Smith placed second. Cory Harrison garnered third place. Jeff Winn won the 8-9 year old advanced title and John Tracey placed second. Aaron Haley garnered third place. John Nebcker placed first in the ten year old novice class and Marty Mangan picked up second. Andrew Burbee of Colorado finished in third place. Shevin Harrison pocketed first place in the 10-11 advanced class and Garret Harwood nabbed second. Neiko Redfoot placed third. Mike Larson won the 10-12 year old expert class and Jim Redfoot nabbed second. se-cond. Troy Walker finished in third place. ' Mike Rasmussen was the top 14 year old advanced racer and Chance Bailey netted second. Bobby Teeter of Colorado garnered third. Vince Tracey snared first place in the 14 year old expert class and Steve Giese garnered second. Cory Harrison Har-rison placed third. Terry Jorgensen picked up first place in the 15-17 year old novice class and Joey Johnson finished in third place. Pat Mahaney netted third. Johnson won the 1617 year old expert ex-pert class and Robbie Sixkiller collected col-lected second place honors. Shane Turpin nabbed third. Outlaw Raceway officials are ex pecting close to 100 riders for the upcoming up-coming BMX for MDA Doubles Point Race, Saturday, August 31 at 5 p.m. Racers are expected from Salt Lake City, Ogden, Vernal, Roosevelt and from Colorado and Wyoming cities. A single points race is set for the morning of August 31 in Roosevelt. A triple points race is scheduled Sunday, Sun-day, September 1 in Grand Junction, Colorado and a single and doubles point meet is set for September 2 in Gunnison. The Labor Day Weekend will offer area racers many races and a chance to pick up some extra points as the season starts to come to a close. Big game drawing results Results are in from the 1985-86 drawing draw-ing for antlerless deer control, restricted area elk, antelope and moose permits. Several hundred excited ex-cited hunters turned out for the Aug. 16 drawing at the Division of Wildlife Resources Salt Lake office and listened listen-ed for their names to be called. Volunteers from the Utah Wildlife Federation read the names of successful suc-cessful applicants over a PA system outside the building. Anxious hunters who weren't able to attend the drawing can find out if they drew a permit by visiting the nearest Wildlife .Resources regional office. Lists of successful applicants should be posted at the offices in Salt Lake City, Ci-ty, Ogden, Vernal, Price, Springville and Cedar City by Tuesday, Aug. 20. Many local radio 'stations and newspapers will also receive lists. Nearly thirty thousand sportsmen applied for the coveted big game permits, per-mits, and Division personnel worked long hours preparing applications for the computer drawing. Permits will be mailed out during the next two weeks. Refunds should take about four to six weeks. Fishermen hook large catfish Catfish, weighing from four to 26 pounds, were caught by Frank Johnson and grandsons, Saturday on the Green River. The grandsons are John, Mark and Jason Nicholson. Vernal Baseball to have meeting A public meeting for Vernal Boys Baseball will be held Thursday, August 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Uintah High School AVA room. Officers will be elected and financial matters will be discussed. Vernal Boys Baseball officials are urging parents to support sup-port the meeting. Soccer tourney contests slated The Dick Nourse Cancer Kick Soccer Soc-cer Tournament has games set for Wednesday and Thursday on the fields next to Uintah High School. Games are set for Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Thursday Thurs-day games are set for 5 p.m. Nourse, Bob Welti and Channel 5 News team will be in Vernal, Thurs day and will watch the final games and present awards. The money will be presented to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. A penalty kick will be used to raise money. Businesses or individuals who donate $100 will have a chance to score a goal during a time limit of eight seconds. The goal keeper will be Robert Downard.
