' ' I "Christmas is in the Air" at Promised Valley Playhouse and these happy characters are just a few of the bright cast that is performing in the crowd-pteasing production. Local stars are shining j in 'Christmas in the Air' ! By JUDY JENSEN Asst Managing Editor I Several local stars are shining this season in the I Promised Valley Playhouse production of "Christmas in the Air," which stars James Arlington and j Nashville recording artist Jen in e Lindsay, j Davis County ensemble actors and actresses in-j in-j elude Jaque Gray, an 8th grade student at MiUcreek I , Junior High who has performed in such productions ; as "Saturday's Warrior" and "Babes in Toyland"; j Brock Hadley, a 6th grade student at Carden Memorial School, who has played in "The Adventures Adven-tures of Columbus' and "Babes in Toyland;" and ; Kristi Monson a Viewmont High School graduate j who has performed in "West Side Story" and "The Magic Flute." - All three of the young performers add to the overall j excitement of the upbeat, audience-pleasing show. Conceived and directed by Randy Boothe, !i "Christmas in the Air" introduced James Arlington's hilarious "Farley Family Christmas" and original, ! new music sung by Lindsay in a forest of giant ! snowflakes. r Audiences are enchanted by Lindsay's clear, sweet voice. She introduces herself with some amusing anecdotes from her childhood. Arlington's recreation of the Farley Family Christmas introduces to the audiences an entourage (all played by Arlington) of the most unforgettable characters that could exist on any family tree. His portrayal of his relatives provides some side-splitting moments. Audiences are transported through a make-believe evening of fun and entertainment with stunning sets by international designer, Steven Nielsen. The set features a snow-laden park with ice skaters and an eight-foot tall, dancing snowman. Santa's glowing workshop, sugar palaces topped with cherries and mountains of ice cream, and Scrooge's London complete com-plete with , falling, snow all lead to Bethlehem's Nativity. ' "Christmas in the Air" provides a welcome "timeout" "time-out" from the hustle and bustle associated with the season. The show continues through Dec. 22.
