Oldroyd wins first prize At St Mark's Cathedral Sept. 8, ten organists competed in the State Fair Organ Competition. Eric Oldroyd, 1990 graduate of Bountiful Boun-tiful High and now a student at BYU, won first prize of $75 and will perform on the Temple Square Concert Series with other State Fair music winners. He is the son of Scott and Patricia Oldroyd. Second prize of $50 went to Carl Wadsworth, a senior, and son of Carl and Vanda Wadsworth. Teresa Griffin, daughter of Dan and Janice Griffin, won third prize of $25. Brent Osiek, a senior at Woods Cross High and son of Glen and Je-nean Je-nean Osiek of North Salt Lake, won honorable mention. The four organists are students of Franklin Eddings. |
