Show Clipper invitational today LAYTON Some of the top high school cross country runners in Utah will compete this morning in Layton City Park at the third annual an-nual Davis County Clipper Invitational. Races begin with JV competition at 8:30 am, to be followed immediately im-mediately by varsity boys' and girls' races. Trophies will be given to first-place varsity teams, and medals will be awarded to top 10 finishers in both boys' and girls' varsity competition. Teams from Bountiful, Clearfield, Davis, Layton, Viewmont and Woods Cross High Schools will all compete this morning. Among the boys', two-time defending champ Viewmont should receive its stiffest challenge from Davis and Bountiful, while the girls race could go down to the wire. Davis and Woods Cross are the favorites for the girls title. The public is invited and there is free admission. |
