Show Darts dry up Bonneville Lakers ball and ran it up the middle for the Darts' final score. A two point conversion con-version attempt failed on an incomplete in-complete pass. The Lakers made one last gasp, driving down to the Davis 20 yard line. Brad Palmer intercepted a pass at the goal line to give the ball back to Davis and put the icing on the Homecoming cake. By JOHN W. CANNON DAVIS HIGH SCHOOL - In a critical Region One game Friday night, the Davis Darts did not disappoint dis-appoint an overflow crowd on hand for Homecoming festivities. The Darts ran to a 26-7 victory over Bonneville. The loss last week to Highland was no doubt disappointing, but the win over Bonneville keeps Davis in the driver's seat for the region championship. "We are in control of our own destiny," said Head Coach Jim Dickson. As long as we keep winning win-ning we will be all right." Davis starting quarterback Todd Heath returned after last week's injury in-jury against Highland. The injury was not serious, a hyperextension of the knee. But the coach did not want to risk further damage and had pulled him from that game to make sure that he would be healthy for the Bonneville matchup, a critical region game. "That game was just for pride, it wasn't worth the risk," said Dickson, referring to playing an injured in-jured Heath against Highland. Heath returned to play well against Bonneville, guiding the Darts into the end zone four times throughout the night. The Darts began their Homecoming Homecom-ing by running the opening kickoff to midfield. A Heath pass to Nate Richardson set up the first Davis touchdown with a first down and goal to go at the Bonneville nine yard line. The Darts punched it in to take the lead 7-0 and never really looked back, though they did hesitate for one brief moment early in the fourth quarter. Davis scored again early in the second quarter on a one yard run with 9:36 left in the half. To end the first half, Davis moved mov-ed the ball from their own four yard line down to the Bonneville 10, where the Lakers intercepted a Heath pass as he was drilled just when he threw the ball. Neither team scored during the third quarter. Davis seemed to lapse just a bit as the Lakers drove down and scored to open the fourth quarter. That woke the sleepy Darts up as they stormed down the field on their next possession. Richardson broke free for a big gainer to the Bonneville Bonne-ville nine yard line. On the next play, Heath got sacked but redeemed redeem-ed himself right after that with a screen pass to Richardson, who made it to the one yard line. Heath then kept the ball on a sweep and dove in for the score. The extra point was no good. On the very next play, Bonneville fumbled the kick off return near midfield and Davis recovered. Shortly thereafter, Joe Warden broke a big run down to the Bonneville Bonne-ville 24 yard line. From the 19, Warden again got his hands on the I . ' W!
