I ? - f Friday, July 13 will be a very lucky day for one special contestant in the annual Miss Farmington Pageant Pag-eant to be held at Farmington Junior High at 7 p.m. Admission is $1 per person. Eric Hickenlooper will perform the song "Home" from his album. There will be a farewell performance perfor-mance from 1989's Miss Farmington, Farm-ington, Holly Nelson. Directors of the pageant are Olivia King and Merlyn White. Ten young ladies will vie for the title this year. They are: Lauri Grandia, Emily Dunkley, Amy Moore, Becky Hale, Susan Giles, Stephanie Halford, Jeni Packer, Kristin Whitmer, Heather Conlin and Cindy Turner. Lauri is the daughter of Glenn a and Larry Grandia. "She is a high honor graduate from Davis High School. She was president of the Limited Edition Show Choir, participated par-ticipated in the DHS Musical Company Com-pany and competed in state drama and music. She will attend Rick's College on the Irwin Tanner Schol- w arship and the Elizabeth Simmons Drama Scholarship. She has had private voice lessons and will sing as her talent on pageant night. Emily is the daughter of Richard and Vickie Dunkley. She graduated from Davis High School, where she was an honor or high honor student every term. She participated in Limited Lim-ited Edition, was a cheerleader and is listed in the "Outstanding High School Students of America." She plans to attend Utah State University. Univer-sity. She has excelled in piano for seven years and will play the piano for her talent. Amy is the daughter of Barry and Jeanne Moore. She graduated with high honors from Davis High School. She has been a cheerleader for the past two years and is listed in "Who's Who in American High School Students." Amy has also served on the "All Teen Alcohol Council." She plans to attend the University of Utah. She has trained in modem dance for the past 14 years and will do a modem dance in the competition. Becky is the daughter of David and Christine Hale. She is a high honor graduate from Davis High School. She participated in Limited Edition, A capella, and is also listed in "Who's Who in American High School Students' ' and "Outstanding High School Students of America." She will attend at-tend Rick's College on a scholastic scholarship. Becky has been involved in-volved in singing and dancing since the age of five and will sing in the talent segment of the pageant. Susan is the daughter of Frank and Rose Marie Giles. She is an honor graduate of Davis High School. She was in the Davis High band and served as vice president of the FHA. She will attend Utah State University on FHA and achievement achieve-ment scholarships. She has been busy the past nine years with piano lessons, while also studying dance for two years and drama for one. Susan will play the piano as her talent. tal-ent. Stephanie is the daughter of HEATHER CONLIN BECKY HALE JENI PACKER CINDY TURNER"-- Stephen and Pamela Halford. She graduated with honors from Davis High School. She was in the Limited Lim-ited Edition, participated in the Madrigals and served as a French Club Officer. She plans to attend Utah State University in the fall. She has had vocal training for four years and piano lessons for seven years. She will sing a musical number on pageant night. Jeni is the daughter of Lynn and Elaine Packer. She is an honor graduate from Davis High School. Jeni was a member of the D'Ertes drill team winning the highest honors in the Rocky Mountain competition. She was a cheerleader and drill mistress and was elected Pro Schola president. She has studied dance for 11 years and piano for five years. Jeni will attend BYU in the fall. She will perform a dance number for the talent competition. com-petition. Kris is the daughter of Stephen and Vickie Whitmer. She is a high honor graduate from Davis High School, earning her academic letter for four years straight. She will attend the L' Diversity of Utah on a pharmaceutical phar-maceutical scholarship. She has studied dance for three years, drama for- two years, and art for almost i five years. As her talent the night of the pageant, she will perform a piano solo. Cindy is the daughter of Carole Turner. She is a graduate of Davis High School, where she participated with the Madrigals. She will attend Utah State University to pursue a degree in family relations and communications. She has taken four years of tap dance and one year of voice lesso is. Cindy will perform per-form a vocal number on the evening of the pageant. |
