Show Xancer Lexicon Layton High School is diving into the school year with enthusiasm, enthu-siasm, following the first chaotic weeks of school. Our annual Homecoming celebration celeb-ration took place Friday, Sept. 30, It was an outstanding event complete com-plete with a victorious football game against Clearfield, and a memorable dance and bonfire. On Friday, Oct. 7, the Lancers held their patriotic assembly in which items were presented in an attempt to spark pride for our nation na-tion and its founding fathers in America's high school students. Also this year, Layton High School will be participating in a close-up trip to Washington, D.C. Several patriotic Lancers are preparing for a fur-filled week in our nation's capital. "Getting down to business" would be an acceptable definition of testing at Layton High. Last year, two students were honored as National Merit Scholars based on exceptional PSAT scores. This year we're sure to have achievements achieve-ments just as high. All of the Lancer clubs and organizations orga-nizations deserve to be congratulated congratu-lated too marching band, Thespians, Thes-pians, debate, Centurion, Chem Club, FFA, Lancelles, Laytones all are working hard to make their high school experience as great as possible. As a whole, the halls are filled with busy, involved students who seem to be optimistic about the upcoming up-coming year. So, in light of this year's planned activities, dances, assemblies, and games, it's obvious that the 1988-89 school year is bound to be one of those exciting years so common at Layton High. |
