University women will attend jazz concerts Fri. and Sat. Jazz Fans Crave Music, Swinging Fashions, Too i They're called "band chicks" or "annies," since they used to follow fol-low the bands from city to city. Now, they can be seen at any jazz performance. They're the girls who sit ringside, keep their eyes on the musicians, and never say a word. They're super-involved fans, nearly to the exclusion of everything else. The question : What does the well-dressed well-dressed annie wear to a jazz concert? con-cert? . Diana Wiley, Terry Wolfe, and Marge Sharp all dig jazz not to the point of being annies and they also like going well-dressed to any big happening. Quite a few University women will be seen at the ICJF, most wearing dresses like Marge's red crepe "peasant style" A-line evening dress, Terri's i two-piece look with dual colors in j lace and velvet, and Diana's sheer, over-dress style in fleecy white organza. The musicians pianist Wayne Christiansen, drummer Ken Breinholt, Brein-holt, and reed man Mike Johnson join bassist Tom Burton today at 4 :30 when the University Jazz Quar- tet cooks out at the Intermountain Collegiate Jazz Festival at Highland High-land High School. |
