However, Robert Kennedy's Ken-nedy's record shows him to be a man of intelligence and integrity in his own right and I believe the American public in his own right. Chronicle : Do you think that Kennedy can win the Mock Convention Con-vention nomination? Day: There is no question in my mind that Senator Kennedy will win the nomination. I am confident confi-dent that the convention will break for us on the third ballot and if not by the third ballot, I'm sure that by the seventh ballot, Senator Kennedy Ken-nedy will be the choice of the Convention. Con-vention. Chronicle: Where do you think you will meet the most opposition? Day: In terms of issues, I am certain that the Johnson and Humphrey Hum-phrey supporters will present our major obstacles because they have a radically different concept of what position our party should take cn issues cf foreign policy in Southeast South-east Asia. Flexibility should be a major consideration in this area, and those too closely tied with the past tend to remain in the past. The position of our country as a major power requires that our party, our country and its administration admin-istration move with foresight and determination into the, future. I think that the McCarthy and Kennedy Ken-nedy supporters have reached unity uni-ty on foreign policy questions and it is my hope that we can achieve unity in backing a candidate. I believe be-lieve Senator McCarthy will be Kennedy's strongest contender for the convention nomination.
