Show Civil Rights Leader Shot And Killed Dr. Martin Luther King;, prominent prom-inent leader in the Civil Rights movement, was killed last night in Memphis, Tenn. Dr. King, in Memphis Mem-phis to coordinate protest by a striking union of sanitation workers, died an hour after he was shot in the face by an assasin. President Lyndon Johnson issued a statement from the White House some minutes after learning of Dr. King's death. The President called upon Americans to reject the senseless sense-less violence that struck Dr. King, a man who was against just that sort of violence."
