SCCASets Snow Slalom The public is invited to attend or participate as guests of the Sports , Car Club of America 1 in a snow slalom at Mountain Meadow Ranch, January 14. The snow slalom is an annual event sponsored by the Utah Chapter Chap-ter of the SCCA to acquaint drivers driv-ers to safety methods of snow driving. driv-ing. In addition, the colorful event provides the drivers and spectators specta-tors with an enjoyable afternoon of zany racing. There will be a brief discussion preceeding the event, covering snow driving and its differences between be-tween regular driving. The drivers will discuss the do's and don'ts of snow driving, and their use in everyday ev-eryday driving. The course will consist of a snow covered field with rubber pylons py-lons marking the course in which cars will hopefully follow. Electronic Elec-tronic timers will record the elapsed elap-sed time. Participating automobiles should be equipped with seat belts and tubes within their tires. The cars must also pass an adequate safety test. The snow slalom is open to the public to view or participate. It will be held on the Mountain Meadow Mead-ow Ranch, on Highway 40, one mile east of Kimball Junction. Registration Registra-tion will be open from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., and fees will be $2.50 for men and $1.50 for women. The racing will begin at noon, and trophies will be awarded for each class of cars. |
