By DAVE ROWLAND Chronicle Staff Writer "I'm not a political animal," stated Utah's attorney general Phil Hansen when asked of the chances of drafting him to run for Mayor of Salt Lake City against incumbent J. Braken Lee. "I'm more interested with law than I am with politics. That's why I initially became a lawyer, a judge, and finally attorney general." However, Hansen commented that he's' "not closing the door' for the office of Mayor if he's drafted. "Right now, I feel that I'm better qualified for the office of attorney general, but if, in the future I feel that I can better serve the people by running for mayor, I might con sider it. For right now, though, I'm not saying what my plans will be later." The interview with Mr. Hansen stemmed from a petition hanging outside the Hinkley Institute of Politics Pol-itics in Orson Spencer Hall on Tuesday. Tues-day. Bright Students, Says Hansen "I'm very flattered that the students stu-dents thought enough of me to circulate circ-ulate the petition," said Hansen, "and I am aware that college students stu-dents are deeply concerned with the world around them. Whether the University students agree with my views or disagree with them, I am still happy that they are bright enough to express them."" Hansen went on to say that he wouldn't particularly want to run against J. Braken Lee because he's "A good friend of mine. I'm sure that his opponent, Nemelka, would also do a good job. I'd vote for both men!" Who Are Supporters? "I'd enjoy knowing who my supporters sup-porters are," reflected Hansen. Campus Cam-pus opinions on the draft were varied. "I like Mayor Lee myself," said one girl. "I have nothing against Hansen," commented student stu-dent Dave Williams.
