' J Vi k v,.- iimp;. jiis r ox, I .fl'4- Homecoming Week got off to an uncontestably good start last night with announcement of the winners of the Queen and Quartet Quar-tet Contests. Vicky Lynn Fry, a twenty-year-old elementary education major from California, is this year's Homecoming Queen. Ann Griffiths and Colleen Winget are her attendants. Winners of the traditional Homecoming Quartet Competition Competi-tion were: Men's Division Sigma Pi, first place; Sigma Chi, 2nd place; Pi Kappa Alpha, 3rd place. Women's Division Delta Delta Delta, first place; Chi Omega, 2nd. place; Lambda Delta Sigma, 3rd place. Trophies will be awarded Thursday night. Next big event in the Homecoming Home-coming schedule is a concert by the world-famous Swingle Singers Sing-ers in Kingsbury Hall on Thursday Thurs-day at 8:15 p.m. . The Swinglers, four men and four women, are now on their second international tour. They have appeared on the Johnny Carson Show and are presented at the University on the Artists-Music Artists-Music Series in cooperation with the ASUU Artists and Speakers Committee. Their specialty is reinterpreting re-interpreting Classical music in a modern style. University students desiring tickets must present their activity activ-ity cards and pay a 25-cent handling hand-ling charge (per ticket) today, Wednesday, and Thursday at the Huddle Booth from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., in 201 Music Hall from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and m 106 Annex from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Hall dormitory sponsored spon-sored this year's successful Homecoming Queen candidate. Vicky Lynn was Central Hall Queen, Engineering Department Cute Ute, and first attendant to the Air Force Queen last year and is currently a member of Angel Flight. First attendant Ann Griffiths, a native of Las Vegas, was sponsored spon-sored by Sigma Chi fraternity. She is an English major, a Kappa Kap-pa Kappa Gamma affiliate, and a member of Cwean. Colleen Winget, second attend- ant, majors in French and has served at the University in Spurs, Army Sponsors, and Cwean. A senior, she was sponsored by Chi Omega sorority.
