In a meeting of the Executive Council Tuesday, John Finktree, student body president, explained the situation, saying Roid "The Boid" Derelick was seen Tuesday Tues-day morning flaunting himself before off-campus visitors while wading in the fish pond wearing Dickie polka-dot shorts, and holding an umbrella. "The Boid" is the chairman of the Bored Regency, and according to Finktree, Fink-tree, is a public servant, "a member of the community-at-large, a true reflection of University interests." In his defense, Derelick cited academic freedom and said, "This is supposed j to be a free campus," then added, "I don't see why I can't do my high dives off the I upper fountain here . . . it's an art." Finktree noted in a statement (actually written by Peerless Peary Soreson) that he had always believed academic freedom meant compliance with academic responsibility. re-sponsibility. "I don't see why the Regency had to flaunt themselves before the visitors," said Finktree. The visitors he was referring to, came to see the debate be- tween J. D.
