Show MILFORD MAY HAVE TELEVISION THIS YEAR Milfrd and Cedar City will be on a three-channel television hookup within six months to a year, if plans of a Southern Utah corporation materialize. At Monday evening's Milford City Council meeting an exclusive exclus-ive one year franchise to 'furnish 'fur-nish coaxial cable television for Milford was granted to the Es-calante Es-calante Service Corp. The franchise extends on a non-I non-I exclusive basis for an additional addition-al 24 years. ; It is understood that the Cedar City city council has under un-der consideration a franchise request from the company. 1 Under the franchise, as explained ex-plained by John Rowberry and D. Corry of Cedar City, representatives rep-resentatives of the Escalante Service Corp., a receiver and ; booster transmitter would be j installed at Black Rock, 20 ! miles north of Milford, and another an-other receiver and transmitter at Milford to transmit the signal sig-nal on to Cedar City. Engineers have stated that the Southern Utah signal would be "within 2 of the strength and clarity of the signal in Salt Lake City," Mr. Rowberry said. Corporation Corpora-tion engineers estimate that six months will be needed to complete com-plete installation at Milford, but a one-year date was set to allow ample time for arrival of equipment, installation, and elimination of any "bugs" that may develop.
