Show HORSES TO BE EVICTED FROM DIRTYr FAIRGROUND STABLES Twelve horses, now qjar-U qjar-U red at the fairgrounds stables, will be evicted from their homes on June 27th if the stables are not cleaned by owners own-ers in the meantime. i That was the edict of the city council Monday evening, after hearing complaints of littered stables and corrals, with some horses "walking around in numir. almost u- to theii I knees." j Stables and corrals must pai--. I nspection by the city marshal, ' or horse owners will be ordered j to vacate the city property they j are occupying under permit from the city council. Other city council business included accepting from D. E. Kirk and Sam Cline a 50x1320-foot 50x1320-foot right of way for a street, which will extend south along 700 West street, and hearing a proposal from Ed Galloway that water meters be installed in Milford to reduce wasting of waUr and permit more equitable equit-able water rate charges. Mr. Galloway contended that charging small property owners and apartment dwellers the same water rate as large lot owners and gardeners was inequitable, in-equitable, and the only equitable equit-able rate schedule possible would be through water meters. The council held that the cost $80 each or about $35,000 for the entile city made installation instal-lation of water meters impracticable, imprac-ticable, and until shortage of water becomes a problem they will not consider installation of meters. |
