Show PLANS STARTED ! TO RESURFACE LOCAL AIRPORT j Preliminary steps t o w a r d i completely rebuilding the Mil- . ford airport were planned after a visit to the local landing field Tuesday by J. D. Church, Civil j Aeronautics Administration airport air-port engineer for the Utah-Ne- J vada division, and Harlan W. I Bement, aeronautics director I for the State of Utah. They flew to Milford in the state's new blue and white, twin-motor j Beechcraft. The visitors inspected the strip, along with Dern Osborn, airport manager, and Jack Weston, Wes-ton, city councilman. They particularly par-ticularly noted damage done to the strip by various government planes which have used the field for emergency landings. These include transports used in the haylift a few years ago, wandering jets off course, and heavy CAA beam - checking planes. Estimates of the cost of the repair job varied from $35,000 to $50,000. |
