McDonald attended the U of U Medical Department's first annual Father's Day at Salt Lake last Saturday. More than 140 fathers of medical students were present. Mac and son Bill toured the medical school, attended at-tended the football game, and the banquet served in the evening for students and their fathers. SILVER DESERT Camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers met at the home of Lena Morris ; on Friday, Oct. 8, A dessert luncheon was served to 12 members mem-bers by Mrs. Morris and Cora Jones, after which President. Cora Jones conducted a business meeting. A public card party was planned, plan-ned, to be given at the home of Wanda Holm on Nov. 8th. All i : e welcome-. THE AMERICAN LEGION Auxiliary Past Presidents were entertained last Monday evening by Mrs. Metta Weston. Bridge was played during the afternoon with Mrs. Ethel Nielsen and Mrs. Carlie Waddoups receiving the prizes. Other players included Mrs. Ethel Smith, Mrs. Magdalena White, Mrs. Naomi Hughes and Mrs. Nina Bingham. A luncheon I was served later in the evening. JIMMIE LEE NEAL observed his eighth birthday with a party on Sunday, Nov. 2nd. His birth ' anniversary was Oct .29th. Friends enjoying the party vHh Jimmie were Jackie Meek-r, Meek-r, Michael Wisner, Bob and Dick Butler, Roland Bacon, Jay ijorig;, Calvin and Danny Bartholomew, Bar-tholomew, and Roger Memmott. Following an afternoon of games, ice cream, cake, punch and popcorn balls were served by Mrs. Neal. THE MEMBERS of the Ella Stancliff Past Noble Grand C ub were entertained on Wednesday eveninff, Oct. 29th, at the Smith-son Smith-son Ranch by Mrs. Frances Smithson and Mrs. Bertha Cot-trell. Cot-trell. The hostesses served a delicious hot supper at 7 o'clock, after which the business meeting meet-ing was held. Twenty members and an invited in-vited guest, Mrs. Hortense Rice of California, were present to enjoy a very pleasant evening. ROCKY MOUNTAIN Lodge No. 841, Lady Trainmen, presented pre-sented their drill team in exhibition exhi-bition on Monday of last week at the Union Meeting of Railroad Rail-road Trainmen in Las Vegas. Members from California, Arizona Ari-zona and Nevada attended the meeting, and the Milford ladies were especially invited to participate.- They were well received and made a very favorable impression im-pression on those who witnessed the drill team exhibition. Ladies participating included Toni Uffens, LaRue Gallagher, Beatrice Spainhower, Phyllis Keetch, Ella Edwards, Norma White, Bobbie James, Eloise White, LaRee Hollis, Janice Moore, and Lillian Anderson, pianist; Helen Leech, flag bearer, bear-er, CHILDREN of the Co-Pilot Class in the Second Ward Primary Pri-mary gave a party for their parents par-ents on Oct 27. Under the direction di-rection of their teacher, Delia MEMBERS OF the Thursday i Night Bridge Club and guests were entertained at the home of Mrs. D. E. Kirk on the evening of Oct. 16. After a delicious dessert lunch served by the hostess host-ess the time was spen,t at bridge. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. I V. L. Boucher, Mrs. Powell Smyth, Mrs. J. H. Weston, and Mrs. William Cochrane. Others present were Mrs. R. H. Magill, Mrs. K. L. Archer and Mrs. E. L. Smith. 1 THE ESA GIRLS enjoyed a Halloween papty on Monday of last week. All met in back of J the jail dressed as ghosts and never a word was spoken. After all had arrived they were motioned mo-tioned to follow and led down the street, through several business bus-iness houses and then to the home of Selma Kirk, whore they were served hot spiced tomato juice. The girls then went to the home of Rosemary Davie where LaRue Varley and Hilda Smith served them salad in oranges- made like jack o' lanterns lan-terns with cider. Here the girls unmasked and were allowed to talk. Then to the home of Enid Johnson they continued, where Helen Banks and . Verl Horton served them spaghetti and meat balls. All had their fortunes told and continued to the home of Garnet Garfield where Juan-ita Juan-ita Gleason, Gloria Slinkerd, Doris Gustavson and Anna Rae Carter served them pumpkin pie and coffee. All played games and enjoyed several spook stories. The pledges for the evening were Dorothy Baker and Jean Hanley, and the guests were Eleanor Murdock and Patsy Stewart. Paice, they presented a program telling about their new lessons and activities. This group of children was formerly known as the Zion's Boys and Gil Is class. After the program each child was presented present-ed with a compass ring. Fifteen children and 12 parents were present, as well as a number of stake and ward officers . Punch and cookies were served to all. On the same day the other classes in Primary had Halloween parties and were treated to candy and apples. |
