Mr. and Mrs. Connell Jones and two children of Monmouth, Ore., are here visiting their many friends and relatives. They are guests of Mrs. Ruben Jones of South Milford and have enjoyed en-joyed visiting her sisters, Mrs. Sylva Davis and Mrs. Vivian Marshall of Minersville. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Goodwin and family of Cedar City enjoyed en-joyed family dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Goodwin. Mrs. Sharon Marshall and daughter Gloria recently arrived at Brize Norton Air Base, England, Eng-land, joining Val, who is stationed sta-tioned there with the ground control approach, radar division. They are comfortably settled in a new trailer house and are about -80 miles from London. Mrs. Marshall and daughter traveled to England on the U S S United States, making its seventh crossing. They were four days on the ocean, and the trip was superb. Mrs. Hazel Eyre of Beaver spent the week-end in Minersville Miners-ville getting acquainted with her ne wniece at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jaces Eyre. Mrs. Augusta Marshall was guest of honor at a birthday dinner receintly. She is now 62 years of age. Strictly a ladies affair, those present were Mr&. Gladys Myers, My-ers, Mrs. Lola Born, Mrs. Alta Kelsey, her sisters; Mrs. Rema Limb, Mrs. May Atkin, Mrs. Virginia Vir-ginia Marshall, Mrs. Joan Ash-worth Ash-worth and Mrs. Karla Marshall and family. She received many nice gifts, and the afternoon was very enjoyable. MRS. EFFIE MARSHALL announces an-nounces the approaching marriage marri-age of her daughter, Aldene, to Mr. Donald Eugene Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben W. Jones of South Milford. The wedding will take place Saturday, Nov. 8th, in Minersville. The couple will be feted at a reception on the same evening, in the Minersville L D S Church Recreation Hall. A SON was born to Wayne and Ann Louise Christensen on Nov. 5th at the Iron County Hospital. Bart Rollins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Rollins, celebrated his eighth birthday on Oct. 31. Those present to enjoy the party were Connie Marshall, Orin Sly, Robert Rob-ert Rollins, Peggy and John Grimes, Michael Patterson, Pat Walker, Kaye Root. Carolyn and Ropnie Bailey. Cake, ice cream and punch were served to the gioup, and Bart received many nice gifts. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Harman of Provo and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Barton and family of Sacramento, Sacra-mento, and Ed Benton of Spring-ville, Spring-ville, visited with a sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Rollins Rol-lins of South Milford several days last week. Mrs. Martha Barton of Beaver Is a guest his week at the Rollins home. Mr. and Mrs. Effie Marshall and daughter Aldean were in Salt Lake City last week-end, shopping. A dinner party election evening eve-ning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Rollins was enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Blackburn, Black-burn, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Heber Gillins, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Marshall and Mr. and Mrs. John Bailey. Card games were enjoyed while the group listened to election elec-tion returns. The Daughters of Utah Pioneers Pio-neers met Friday at the home of Mrs. Ella Wood. Officers were elected for the coming year, as follows: Mrs. Wanda Corbridge, captain, Lincoln Camp; Mrs. Aba Carter, captain, Susan camp. Visitors were Mrs. Wanda Holm, her mother, Mrs. James, and an aunt, Mrs. Rose Hedges of Salt Lake City. The following members of the D U P attended the convention at Parowan Saturday: Mrs. Mary A. Baker, Mrs. Edith Bradfield, Mrs. Etta Rollins, Mrs. Alvaretta Robinson, Mrs. Luella Rollins and Mrs. Wanda Corbridge. Cor-bridge. Ray Baker of Wasco, Cal., and Helen Tinsley and son Larry of Bakersfield visited their parents, MrAand Mrs. Bill Baker, during deer season. Ray came especially for the deer hunt and was successful suc-cessful in getting a buck and a doe. Mrs. E. A. Moyes of Bakers-field, Bakers-field, Calif.,, was an overnight visitor last Monday with the Bill Bakers. The Relief Society presented a special program Sunday evening, which was conducted by Mrs. Druella Hall, counselor. Mrs. Lydia Smith, stake board Relief Soiety member, was a visitor. Val Marshall observed his 23rd birthday on Oct. 30 in England. |
