JANE LANG, 81-year-old Milford resident, recently returned re-turned from an extended visit with her children and grandchildren. grand-children. Spending Christmas was a granddaughter, Mrs. Mc-Cormick Mc-Cormick and family, Mrs. Lang next went to El Paso, Texas, w.th her daughter and son-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Cate, for a five-week visit, also touring Carlsbad Caverns and White Sands National Monument while in the vicinity. Mrs Lang also enjoyed a trip to Juarez, Mexico, before returning to California to visit another son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. McKee. In California she also visited former for-mer Milford friends, Mrs. Hattie Tanner and Mrs. Mary Lewis, and Mr. Carlson ,who was visiting vis-iting in California . THE AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY held their, regular business meeting Monday evening eve-ning at the home of District President Pres-ident Ethel Nielsen. Refreshments were served and games were played, with prizes going to Mrs. Metta Weston and Mrs. Nina Bingham. LISA ACKLIN entertained her pinochle club Wednesday evening. A delicious lunch was served, and the club presented a lovely birthday gift to Mar-jorie Mar-jorie Harton. Those present were Lela Rowley, Row-ley, Ann Bird, Vera Beitz, Alice Baxter, Lillian Mellor, Mary Gribble, Marjorie Harton, and the hostess. Prizes were won by Mrs. Mellor, Mrs. Rowley and Mrs. Baxter. AT A WEDDING ceremony performed Feb. 16, Miss Carrol Jean Hollis became the bride of Mr. Charles D. Bingham. The nuptial rites were performed at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hollis. Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Bingham are the parents of the bridegroom. The ceremony was solemnized by former Bishop Carlyle F. Gronning. A wedding dinner honored the justweds after the ceremony, with the bridegroom's parents as hosts. A reception at the Hollis home further feted the couple. The bride greeted guests in a ballerina-length dress of nylon net over taffeta. Her finger-tip veil of briday illusion was secured se-cured to a tiara of seed pearl and crystal beads. She carried a bouquet of red roses and gardenias. gar-denias. The young couple are honeymooning honey-mooning in California. KIM BLAIR COON, 3-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Blair Coon, celebrated his birth anniversary anni-versary with a party at the home of his parents on Feb. 13th. After Kim and his young friends had enjoyed an afternoon after-noon of games, Mrs. Coon, Mrs. Doris Gustavson, Mrs. Becky Price and Mrs. Barbara Thompson Thomp-son served refreshments consisting consist-ing of a heart-shaped birthday cake, ice crea mand candy. Cafi-dy Cafi-dy cup favors and Valentine place cards were laid for Janet Ann Root, Vickie and Dickie Price, Bobby Thompson, Bobby and Elaine Stewart, Paul Gustavson, Gus-tavson, Shirl Nichols, Cheryl Christensen, and Kathy Killam. Kim received many lovely presents. Mrs. Stella Persons was hostess host-ess for her bridge club on Feb. 14th. Mrs. Hazel Baxter's birth anniversary was also observed and the members presented her with a lovely gift. At bridge Mrs. LaReta Wor-then, Wor-then, Mrs. Flossie Rickerson, Mrs. Hazel ' Baxter, Mrs. Ther-essa Ther-essa Pitchforth, Mrs. Cora Jones, a guest, and Mrs. Persons received re-ceived the prizes. Other members mem-bers included Mrs. Helen Leech .and Mrs. Nina Bingham. Birthday cake and ice cream were served as refreshments. The Valentine motif. was carried out. Mr. and Mrs.. Les day and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Murdock accompanied the Merrill Millers and Hampton Burkes of Black Rock to Delta Tuesday evening to hear Gov. J. Bracken Lee speak at the Lincoln Day baa-quet. I THE MEMBERS of the Ella Stancliff Past Noble Grands club gathered at the I O O F Hall Wednesday . evening, Feb. 13th, for a Valentine party. Hostesses were Mrs. Margaret Lyman, Mrs. Lillian Atkin, Mrs. Vera Tom-sik, Tom-sik, Mrs. Elva Sedgwick, Mrs. Dora Johnson, Mrs. Carlie Wad-doups Wad-doups and Mrs. Hilda O'Leary. Monte Carlo Whist was played during the evening. Mrs. Emma Griffiths, Mrs. Frances Kinross, Mrs. Iola Carter and Mrs. Frances Fran-ces Jefferson were the prize winners. ' Fruit salad, hot rolls and cof-! cof-! fee were served to the guests, after which valentines were distributed dis-tributed from an attractive valentine val-entine box. REGULAR MEETING of the Lady Firemen, Utahna Lodge No. 358, was held Friday evening eve-ning in the I O O F Hall. Delicious refreshments were served before cards. Winners at bridge were Mrs. Ethel Smith, Mrs. Virginia Fowles, and Mrs. Magdalena White. At pinochle the winners were Mrs. Alma 1 Sly, Mrs. Jerry Memmott and Mrs. Laura Bradfield. MRS. MARVEL CONNELL entertained a group of friends Monday eveniny honoring Mrs. Letty Fotheringham, who is visiting vis-iting here from Salt Lake City. Guests included Mrs. Kate Shin-gleton, Shin-gleton, Mrs. Flossie Rickerson, Mrs. Ethel Smith, Mrs. Wanda Holm, Mrs. Marjorie Harton, Mrs. Maxine Bohart, Mrs. La-Vera La-Vera Meeker, and Mrs. Fotheringham. Fother-ingham. The ladies played cards, and Mrs. Rickerson, Mrs. Shingleton and Mrs. Smith won prizes at bridge. THE FIRST semi-formal dance given by the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority on Feb. 16th turned out very successful. The hall was colorfully decorated in i red and white valentine motif. Music was furnished by the Hilltoppers. At intermission the dancing party was entertained by the Harmoneers, aisp by readings by Zelda Merryweather, and Barbara Bar-bara McGinn, with Dr. Eugene Davie as master of ceremonies.
