Show JUNIOR LEGION BASEBALL TEAM TO PLAY CALIENTE HERE SUNDAY The 1951 American Legion Junior Baseball season offici- ally opens Saturday, June 23, when the Milford Junior base-ballers base-ballers entertain Fillmore, but the local ball fans will have a I preview look at their representatives represent-atives Sunday afternoon. The Milford squao plays host to the Junior Legion Squad from Cal-iente, Cal-iente, Nev., in a game to be played at the local fairgrounds beginning at 2 p. m., it was announced an-nounced today by Bob Davis, Legion athletic officer. "The Caliente team has a reputation that labels them a pretty hot outfit," Mr. Davis said, "and I dunno' whether we j can beat 'em or not. But at any I rate, we promise the fans a real I ball game, and we'll show the Caliente boys some pretty salty ballplayers from Milford." Game time is 2 p. m., admis- sion is free, and everyone is invited in-vited to turn out and watch the Milford Junior Legionnaires in action. Making up the Milford roster, which must be cut to 16 by June 15th, are Harlan Anderson, Ander-son, Gary Anderson, Kent Kinross, Kin-ross, Donald Rowley, Darrell Schramm, Wayne Roberts, Neal Smyth, Boyd White, V. Wads-worth, Wads-worth, Larry Edwards, Dean Stoker, DeMar Banks, Vaughn McDonald, Marion Barnes, Ronald Ron-ald Banks, Paul Jiminez, Gary Bingham, Billy Reese, Charles Truex, Floyd Bedingfield, and Leland Beard. "Sixteen brand new suits are on the way," Mr. Davis said, "and we hope they're here by the 15lh, so we can issue them for our next practice game." |
