Nothing, of course, unless it might be a friend or two to share them . with you. One of the best of all remedies for spring fever is to call up several sev-eral friends you haven't seen for a while and invite them to drop in for afternoon coffee. Then shine up the living room, get out your prettiest pret-tiest linen and china. Before your , guests arrive, bake a pan ot Brown Sugar Pinwheels, timing them so they will be warm from the oven i for serving. And there you are all set for a delightful afternoon. Timing the coffee is important, too. It should be as fresh and fragrant fra-grant as a spring breeze. Make it at the last moment, serve it piping hot and be sure you make enough for plenty of extra cups to chat over! Brown Sugar Pinwheels K teaspoon cup brown baking soda sugar mix' cup buttermilk cup golden-(about) golden-(about) bleached raisins f 8 cups biscuit mix Add baking soda to buttermilk (or sour milk); mix well; add enough buttermilk to biscuit mix to make soft dough. Roll out on floured board in rectangle shape, about inch thick. Crumble brown sugar mix over dough; sprinkle with raisins. Roll up tightly like jelly roll, starting from narrow end. Cut crosswise in inch slices. Place slices, cut side up, close together, to-gether, in 8 inch layer cake pan. Bake in hot oven, 450F., 15 to 18 minutes. Invert on serving dish. Brown Sugar Mix 1 ib. light brown 1 teaspoon sugar allspice 2 teaspoons M cup butter or cinnamon margarine Combine brown sugar, cinnamon and allspice. Add butter or margarine mar-garine broken in small pieces; cream with finger tips until well blended. Store in tightly covered jar in refrigerator. Yield: about 2 cups.
