Show PRACTICAL NURSES URGED TO SECURE LICENSE NOW Attorney General, Grover A. Giles, has just released an official of-ficial opinion clarifying the law regulating the licensure of practical prac-tical nurses. According to his :uling, all except a few exempt nurses in the state, who desire to practice as practical nurses after July 1, 1949, must be licensed. The Bureau of Home Nursing, a state organization of practical practi-cal nurses, urges all practical nurses in Utah to apply for licenses without delay. The Attorney General ruled that a practical nurse who has proof of reasonable experience as a practical nurse for five years immediately prior to July 1, 1947, may be able to qualify for license without examination, examina-tion, if application is submitted prior to July 1, 1949. The Bureau of Home Nursing emphasizes the importance' of having all qualified practical nurses obtain a license under the waiver provision of the present pre-sent law. Nurses concerned may obtain an application for license by calling or writing to Rena B. Toomis, Head of Registration Department, Bureau of Business Regulation, and requesting application ap-plication forms to be mailed to their address. The Bureau of Home Nursing, 137 North West Temple, Salt Lake City, will assist qualified applicants, in obtaining or filling fill-ing out the applications, and will be glad to furnish further information in-formation or copies of the license li-cense law through the cooperation coopera-tion of the Department of Registration. |
