Show SCOUTS RECEIVE AWARDS AT COURT OF HONOR District Scout Court of Honor ; services were held in connection with sacrament meeting Sunday evening, December 26, in the Milford ward L D S chapel. Dis- trict Chairman of Advancement I Rudolph Nielsen was in charge j of the services. I i After singing America and giv-: ing the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag led by Scout Jay Brad-shaw, Brad-shaw, Second Class certificate and pin were awarded to Darrell ; Schramm by Scoutmaster Jessie, E. Long. Darrell's mother, Mrs. Robert Schramm, received a min-iature min-iature pin of the same rank. Merit Badge certificates were : awarded to the following scouts by Chairman Nielsen: ! Richard Fisher handicraft, ! rabbit raising, cookmg and pho- tography. 1 Daniel Blake handicraft. Herbert Blake handicraft. Darrell Schramm home repairs. re-pairs. Donald Jones cooking. Don ald's grandmother received his certificate, as he was in Provo. Vance Fisher played a saxophone saxo-phone solo, accompanied by Vera Tomsik. A talk on "Principles of Scouting" was given by Scoutmaster Long. Stanley Lewis, chairman of : the local Senior Troop Commit- tee received his woodcraft certificate cer-tificate from Bishop Goodwin. Some very fine points on scouting scout-ing were brought out in remarks by David C. Watkins, music instructor in-structor at Milford High School Mr. Watkins is an experienced scouter, having served nine years as chief scout executive of the Eastern Idaho Council. A 15-year veterans certificate ! was awarded to Frank Farns- worth, district chairman of sen-I sen-I ior sccuting, and a 20-year certificate certif-icate was awarded to M. J. Warr, ! chairman of the district com-i com-i mittee. The services were climaxed by the awarding of Eagle certifi-' certifi-' cates and pins to Carlyle Gron-I Gron-I ning, district scout commission ! er, and Mr. Nielsen. Mrs. Niel sen and Mrs. Gronning received miniature Eagle pins. The presentation pres-entation was made by Mr. Watkins. |
