Show MILFORD TIGERS DEFEAT VAUNTED DIXIE FLYERS IN THRILLING RALLY Milf orcl's basketball fans who braved the snow and sub-freezing temperatures last Tuesday night saw a fighting fight-ing bunch of Tigers who knew how to come from behind to hang a 33-27 defeat on a highly-touted, fast-breaking Dixie Flyer squad from St. George. The Southerners were about the classiest ballhandlers the local gym has seen this year, but Coach Perry Neal-'s Tigers met their every challenge and put on a few extra exhibitions of teamwork to turn in the victory. The Tigers will definitely defi-nitely be a contending ball. club in the Region Six race. Tuesday s game was nip and' tuck for 2 y2 periods, with both squads fighting all the way and showing flashes of near-professional ballhandling. Neither team racked up more than a 3-point 3-point lead until the Dixie outfit turned on the steam with a combination com-bination of sharpshooting and dazzling speed to take a 22-16 lead at the quarter. When the boys came back for the final stanza they broke loose. In less than a minute Coon sank two baskets and a free toss to make it 21-22. On a beautiful play from Crane to Ted to Turner, Tur-ner, Clyde swished one through from a difficult side angle to put the Tigers in front. Crane added a point on a charity toss and Coon dropped another thru to make the tally 26-22.
