Show Of Interest to Women MRS. OWEN R. SMITH, Society Reporter NUPTIAL RITES were sol-j emnized Tuesday, June 29th, for Miss Utahna Colleen Hardy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Hardy, and Mr. James Allen Heap, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Heap of Parowan, at the St. George L D S Temple. MISS SALLY KILLAM enter-J enter-J at a farewell party last Tuesday evening, in honor of Miss Marilyn Mari-lyn Wood. Games were played and delicious deli-cious refreshments served. Marilyn Mari-lyn was presented with, lovely handkerchiefs from each guest. Those bidding Marilyn goodbye good-bye were the hostess, Dorothy Killam, Johnny Killam, Doug Killam, and Baby Kathleen, Corene Harden, Lynn Bracken, Bevan Thompson, Arma Thompson, Thomp-son, Sandra Johnson, Gayle Tol-ley, Tol-ley, Joan Jones, Margaret and Kay Root, and Clair Leany. MRS. LLOYD F. KOHLER entertained en-tertained her bridge club last Wednesday evening. Prizes were won by Mrs. K. B. Coon, first high; Mrs. J. D. Williams, second high, and Mrs. Kohler, third high. Others present were Mrs. A. L. ; McDonald, Mrs. H. V. Carlson, Mrs. Ben Hillman, Mrs. J. M. : Vogt and Mrs. Vance Fisher I Immediately after the ceremony cere-mony the newlyweds drove to Milford and in the evening congratulations con-gratulations were received at a reception given by the bride's parents, in the L D S Church. Attendants to the bride at the reception were Mrs. Maxine Wilson Wil-son of Beaver and Miss Theodore Heap of Parowan, who wore lovely evening gowns. A program was given during the evening, with Mr. Mitchell Fisher acting as master of ceremonies. cere-monies. Vance Fisher sang "You Were Meant For Me," accompanied accompa-nied by Miss Bonnie Tomsik. Miss Sylvia Voorhees played a trumpet solo, "With a Song in My Heart." Ramona Stewart presented two tap dance numbers, num-bers, and Reed Eldridge sang "Serenade of- the Bells" and "Just a Prayer Away." Bonnie Tomsik played a piano solo, "In the Garden of Tomorrow." The remainder of the evening was spent in dancing, with Al Kirk, Lawrence Eldridge, Vance Fisher and Jim Hickman furnishing furnish-ing the music. Refreshments were served by Marlys Gillins, Nancy Hillman, Vanda O'Leary, Florence Open-shaw, Open-shaw, Myrna Peterson of Enterprise, Enter-prise, and Theodean Heap of Parowan. The three-tiered wedding wed-ding cake was cleverly decorated by Mrs. Dalton of Parowan, with a replica of the St. George Temple Tem-ple adorning the top layer. The bride was charming in her white wedding gown with a fingertip fin-gertip bridal veil crowned with forget-me-nots. Her bridal bouquet bou-quet was of white lilies. MRS. DOROTHY KIZER, as hostess, entertained her pinochle club, at her home, Tuesday evening eve-ning June 17th. The evening was spent playing play-ing pinochle, with Mrs. Toni Uffens winning a triple flour sifter as high score prize, Mrs. Ethel Mclntyre a plastic creamer cream-er and sugar set as second prize, and Mrs. Phyllis Keetch taking home a spice rack as consolation award. Mrs. Keetch and Mrs. Buelah Wunderlich were pleasantly surprized sur-prized when they were presented with a number of beautiful gifts, in honor of their birthdays. Mrs. Kizer served a most delightful de-lightful lunch consisting of salad, hot rolls, punch and a frozen dessert. Members in attendance besides the hostess were Mrs. Margaret Mahoney, Mrs. Toni Uffens, Mrs. Ethel Mclntyre, Mrs. Phyllis Keetch, Mrs. Buelah Wunderlich, Mrs. Lola Banks and Mrs. Dorothy Morris. MISS BEVERLY M. BRIM-BERRY, BRIM-BERRY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Brimbc-rry, formerly of Veedersburg, Ind., and James Allen Glenn, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Glenn, were united in marriage, Monday, June 19th, at Beaver. The bride was attired in a gray mist Ballerina suit, with aqua and white accessories, and wore a corsage of red roses. The couple left immediately following the ceremony for a short wedding trip to Salt Lake City and other north Utah points. They are now at home to their friends in Milford. |
