Show LANDS WEST OF MILFORD OPENED TO HOMESTEADERS Notice of Filing of Plat of Survey Sur-vey and Dependent Resurvey and Mineral Segregations was issued is-sued this week by the United States Department of the Interior, Inter-ior, Bureau of Land Management, Manage-ment, opening certain lands for homestead filing, subject to prior rights. Included in the lands to be open for filing are the following located approximately 10 miles west-northwest from Milford: All in Township 27 South, Range 13 West, S L M Sees. 1 to 4, Ses. 5 lots 1 to 14, Sec. 6 lots 1 to 12, Sees. 9 to 12, Sees. 14, 15 and 16, Sees 21, 22 and 23, Sees. 26, 27, 28, Sees. 33, 34, 35. The area described, exclusive of mineral segregations, aggregates aggre-gates 9,369.85 acres. All of the township is within the exterior boundaries of Grazing District No.3 The following lands are included in-cluded in power site class No. 129, Utah, Nq. 24, of February 16, 1926, as conformed June 12, 1945: Salt Lake Meridian Sec. 21, lot 1, west half northeast quarter, quar-ter, SE quarter NE quarter, NE quarter SE quarter, NE quarter NW quarter; Sec. 22, lots 7, 8, 9, 11, S half SW quarter; Sec. 23, lot 5; Sec. 26, lots 1 to 4; Sec. 27, lot 1, NW quarter NE quar-er. quar-er. The character of the land varies var-ies from level desert to rough and rolling mountains, supporting support-ing a medium growth of sagebrush sage-brush and native grasses on the desert and a fair growth of scrub cedar, pinon and pine in the mountainous areas. A 90-day period for preference-right filings extends from August 18 to Nov. 13, during which the lands shall be subject to application under the homestead home-stead or the desert land laws, or the small tract act of June 1, 1938, by qualified veterans of World War II, and application under any applicable public-land law, based on prior existing valid settlement rights and preference rights conferred by existing laws, or equitable claims subject to allowance and confirmation. Application by such veterans shall be subject to claims of the latter class. A 20-day advance period for simultaneous preference - right filings extends from July 30 to August 18. Non-preference right filings will commence at 10 a. m. on November 17, and any of the lands remaining unappropriated shall become subject to such application. ap-plication. Veterans must accompany applications ap-plications with certified copies of discharge certificates, or other satisfactory evidence of military or naval service. Persons asserting assert-ing preference rights, thru settlement set-tlement or otherwise, must accompany ac-company their applications with duly corroborated affidavits.
